I really hope that if the trade does happen (which is a very low probability) that they get it done without including Caufield.

Don't see Suzuki or Romanov there so I don't think Jets are interested.

So basically 2 smurfs as the main pieces for a 6'5 power forward in Patrik Laine. Both Domi and Caufield would probably get crushed in the west. And Chevy does this why?

Basically any deal for Patrik Laine starts with Suzuki+Romanov and MB would balk at that. So Laine to Montreal isn't happening unless a 3rd team gets involved.

Not saying the deal is fair or not but LAINE IS NOT A POWER FORWARD

He was throwing his weight around this season.

Typical Montreal offer. "Here's nothing, but it's a whole bunch of nothing. Are you interested?"

I'd say he has the specs of a power forward. Now it's just a matter of whether he'll use those specs to his advantage.

He's 6'5 scoring between 50-70 points per season plus uses the body. Too me that's a Power Forward.

Exactly. A could be power forward who hasn’t been for his 4 year career

You need to actually hit to be a power forward. Power forwards don’t come around often especially one who can score. Tom Wilson is a power forward

Just a lethal sniper that turned out to try playmaking this year.

If he can pull of the power forward role, we have an amazing player there.

Laine is an underrated passer, his goal totals went down yes but the powerplay isn't the same without Buff on it, Pionk was okay but not great at it.

Trading Laine would be a huge mistake, any team that gets him is getting one hell of a player and I'm sure will be getting the best player in the deal.

Many on here (not saying you)like to rag on him but if they get him I'm sure they'll love having him on their team.

Caufield would be expendable in a trade for a 23 year old RFA goal scorer.

doesn't mean this trade is likely to happen for the pieces involved, but I'd have no issue giving up Caufield in this move.

There is no single player on the trade market today that is going to match Laine. Laine is the best - probably by a lot - of all the names on any trade boards.

What that means to WPG fans...if they are trading Laine, they will probably have to lose the trade to make their team better. Sorry, truth hurts.
