Virtanen is barely worth his QO. He's been a disappointment since he was drafted. He couldn't crack your top 6 when Leivo was his competition.

He's been a disappointment because he was drafted 6th overall he has still improved every year and would've scored 20 goals this year if you're gonna offer anything less than a 2nd they would just hold on to him

Only in fantasy land.

That's the price it doesn't make sense to move him for anything less

He's all yours. I doubt he'd make the Leafs roster. We have better players, ahead of him, younger players with more upside behind him and guys who can play roles that are needed better than he can. I have zero interest in Virtanen.

Losing him for nothing in the expansion draft then. Terrific plan. Ask for the moon and then lose him for nothing. Or even worse, pay Seattle to take someone else. Amazing plan.

Markstrom has made it clear he's willing to sign without a NMC so we can actually keep both but nice try

From what I have read is he will be willing to go for less if it means he gets the NMC.

Yep. It's pretty pathetic. I get the counter argument that some Leaf fans post wild trades because they do happen. But literally EVERY trade that people post about the Leafs is just flamed. There was a thread yesterday where someone actually laughed at someone proposing Sam Bennett for Kerfoot, a 4th AND a 2nd. Bennett who scored the same number of points than Frederik friggen Gauthier this season is worth MORE than Kerfoot, a 4th and an 2nd. It's getting ridiculous.

As a Leafs fan, I don't think that this trade is worth it for the Canucks.

Johnsson, returning from a bad injury and off a bad season production wise, an unproven undersized junior and two picks isn't worth Demko and Vertanen. It just isn't. Not in any world or universe.

That isn't undervaluing Leafs players, that is reality.

To these two idiots who think that this trade is in any way realistic from a Canucks perspective... Give your collective heads a shake. It isn't.

Do you know what a hyperbole is?

Whether you try to or not, you do a fantastic job in utilizing that literary device on every person's post

Try posting something that makes sense for both sides. You may receive a more favourable reaction.

I think that offer to the Canucks is laughable TBH.

If I am the Canucks, no chance in hell I make that deal.

Brutal.

The second was a first originally. He changed it because people thought that was too much. I think a first (probably this years 15th overall) for those 2 is good.

That is foolish, his 3 games won't make him super sought after. It has increased his value a little no doubt but temper your expectations. DiPietro is going to be better and is your future. If you resign Markstrom, Demko will get moved and if Tofolli moves on, getting Johnsson to take his spot is a wise plan. I think he'd do well with Petterson or Horvat and has term at a good price. Throw in a pick to balance it out a little and it's a good hockey move. Demko would be given a tandem role with Campbell and Andersen would be moved.

your making my point. VAn doesnt move him they will hang on to him as there own gamble unless someone over pays. see how he does next year and if he is still solid or on par with markstrom they willmove markstrome or keep them both for a playoff run and move one before the draft. then move one of them for more.

Also not a canucks fan at all. but he was also solid in pretty well all his regular seasion games. he was just unbelievable in the playoffs. so its not just 3 games he is a solid goalie.

His GAA this season was 3.05 and his S% was .905. Hardly what anyone should call solid play in the regular season. But much like everything else on here, a fan makes a statement without bothering to see if it is at all true and then will die on his hill of bull****.
