Description
We all know dumba is probably going to be moved within the next year. Now, they probably want a top 6 center and how many of those do teams just have lying around and have the cap space to take dumba? The only teams I can think of is Montreal and Chicago. I don't think Montreal would have much interest in dumba unless they move petry. Even then, with Weber as their pp 1 an, I don’t see them wanting dumba. Chicago could be a good fit, but I’m not sure they can add that cap to their back end with seabrook, maata, and dehaan still there. The next best fit is Winnipeg imo, although Winnipeg can’t offer a top 6 center, they can offer something close in Roslovic. Additionally, just as a note, they will not be offering any top 6 wingers since all three of laine, ehlers, and connor hold considerably more value than dumba.

Now, the jets can offer Roslovic who is their closest bet to a 2c. I think he is a sure bet to become a 50+ pt top 6 forward, though I’m not sure it will be at centre since maurice won’t play him there. I do think he has what it takes to play centre though. In fact, from the little jets fans have seen of him at centre, most will probably agree he is more dynamic there. So my proposal is Roslovic +. I know some team might come along and offer more but this is my package that I do believe is fair and is the best Winnipeg can offer (we aren’t moving 10 oa for 3 years of dumba).

Finally, the jets make deal with ny bringing in leddy for the cheaper niku

The top 4 is a little on the small side, but it’s not too small. I would’ve offersheeted a guy like zadorov but the 2021 2nd was already traded for dumba.

The bottom of the lineup is probably differnt as I don’t expect gus, Vesalainen, or luoto to be there but I just moved then there because if did it want to sign depth options

Last trade is for demelo’s rights, much like the Edmundson trade

I said this is sort of realistic because these are all moves within the realm of rumours and there is nothing new. All three players have recently also been linked to the jets

I would like to keep niku, but I don’t think he’s going to be given his fair shot in Winnipeg with heinola and Samberg both knocking on the door. Instead the jets get a guy who can help now and potentially they can raise his value and move him next year

Roslovic isn't a LW trying to play center so he isn't a fit in Minnesota.

If that was a joke towards the johansson trade haha. Though what do you think of it?

If I am Minnesota I wait for a better offer. This is a pretty underwhelming return even though I like Roslovic.

It's really too bad Maurice hates Roslovic, it's obvious there's a good player there.

It was a joke.
I think it's close I am a Wild fan so I think you need to make the pick a 1st but it's close I wish it were someone who projected to center better than Roslovic but if Jets had that guy they would keep him and play him at center.

I think Roslovic will be a centre. Also I think Roslovic, Stanley plus a 1st is a little too rich for 3 years of dumba. Maybe add a 3rd but not making the 2nd a 1st imo.

Fair enough. I think Minnesota fans need to tamper expectations a bit since his contract is only 3 more years so he’s not exactly long term.
That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they got more than this. I just think this is about the most the jets should give for dumba. Maybe they could justify sending a 1st instead of the 2nd but that woudl be a tough sell

Dumba is a top pairing RHD (on most teams) which is a hot commodity in the league. Hes only 26 just entering his prime and has perennial 50 point potential and he hasnt even reached his ceiling yet. I think he definitely needs a change of scenery but this trade is a low offering. Logan Stanley reminds me of Taylor Doherty and is likely on a similar career path. Roslovic is a nice piece but i dont think he should be the primary piece.
Id say,
To Jets: Dumba
To Wild: Copp, Veselainen, 3rd.

As I said in the trade description, it can be lundmark instead. I just think Stanley is more valuable rn.

I don’t think the jets will move copp unless they have to. So that’s a no deal. He is our best defensive forward and can play up and down the lineup. I don’t think management will move him. I also think copp, Vesalainen, and a 3rd is an overpayment considering how valuable copp is to the jets.

Also if you are thinking copp is a potential 2c, he’s not. The jets have already tried it more that once. He can handle the minutes in his own end but can’t produce on the 2nd line. Roslovic is a closer bet for that role. If not, he will be better than copp anyway as a rw imo. It’s ok if you decline, but the jets aren’t moving copp since they need him almost as much as they need their top 6 forwards (more sometimes)

I’m not saying he’s not valuable, but teams won’t be giving long term 2c’s for 2 years of dumba imo. Also dumb, while great in the offensive zone, isn’t great defensively and has some major brain farts which brings down his value.

Imo his value is a 1st and an A prospect, though I could be wrong.

Thats fair to say. His value is more mercurial than most partially due to his defensive decision making. A 1st and an A prospect make sense if Minnesota is rebuilding but I doubt thats the case with the Brodin re-signing, I'd bet that Dumba isnt going to be that cheap and Guerin has already proven to be a much better GM than Fenton or Fletcher despite the Staal trade which really, on paper isnt that bad of a trade. I guess we'll see.

I agree, though I don’t see any team having a 2c just available so I think minny will have to settle for picks and prospects or a player like Roslovic and picks

If thats the case and I am Minnesota, I just keep him then. Roslovic is a solid middle six player but Minny has like 10 of those. For a top pair offensive RHD a 2C is a reasonable ask imo and Roslovic aint that.

Fair enough. I just don’t think any teams are in a positions to give up a 2c for dumba. I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong though. Also it’s only a matter of time before Roslovic breaks out as a top 6 winger (if not a 2c) so if you can’t get a 2c for dumba before the draft, I think a player like Roslovic and some pieces is their best bet instead of a 1st + a prospect
