I love you MB, but this is bad. We shouldn’t be committing money to depth D like Edmundson, especially with our upcoming cap crunch. He’s not as bad as Alzner, but this isn’t a good deal, and I don’t see him as much of an upgrade over our current D-core.

Let’s just pray that Seattle somehow picks him.

Chiarot was underrated. This isn't a terrible deal, but it's not good either.

Not a fan of giving term to non top 4 on a contender dmen.

Why 4 years? I get it as a stopgap for a year or 2 until Romanov is ready for top 4 minutes but why 4 years, especially when they still have chiarot

you clearly dont know anything about hockey. that is a terrible deal for a bottom pairing dman. we have bottom pairing dman in SPADES.

This is a TERRIBLE DEAL. You are overpaying a bottom pair dman and we already have those in SPADES. Chiarot, kulak, Ouellett, and Fleury. This is HORRIBLE.

He won’t be as bad as Alzner, and his contract isn’t as bad. He’s a 3rd pairing defenseman, so at least he’s an NHLer. It’s a bad contract that makes things a bit tighter, but at least we aren’t paying a below average AHLer $4.6 million.

I recall a few months ago quite a controversy here on CapFriendly over whether Boston's John Moore was worth a fifth, or entirely worthless. Well, Carolina got a fifth for Edmundson, and Montreal signed him for $750,000 more, so is everyone satisfied that now we have the answer?
