Description
The Golden Knights had a excellent season despite the fact they were eliminated in 5 games in the hands of Dallas. Their key players are locked for many years and I don't think they should blow everything up. However there's one thing they who actually change and it's the situation in front on the net. They have Lehner and Fleury two good goaltenders, however Fleury has two more years at 7M cap, while Lehner await for his new contract, Fleury is now 36 and since he wasn't the first option in the series I'm pretty sure he's going to be trade this offseason. Trading him will the hard but also the smart solution. Lehner can handle being the #1 and he may come cheaper then Fleury. Contenders team who misses a goalie to take the next step like Calgary and Carolina will be interested in him and I think Carolina will be Fleury next team. So it's going to involve Fleury and Reimer (to be the backup to Lehner) and since Fleury is 36 and I don't think he worth a 1st no more, but maybe a second round should do the trick.
Besides that as previously said I don't expect changes in Vegas and this team will still be able to compete even after the loss of Fleury. Oh and also Vegas will name his first captain in team history and it's going to be Mark Stone.

Marc Andre-Fleury to Carolina makes tons of sense, He'd be the perfect fit for them.

Think you have the pick on the wrong side here. Canes won’t be paying Vegas just for the pleasure of taking on that contract.

If Matt Murray fetches a 1st, I see no reason how Fleury with 2 years left can't fetch a 2nd/3rd

I don't see Fleury being trade without significant retention, >$2m. But CAR is looking for goaltending per rumors, so they may have some interest. Lots of goalie options this summer though...

1. Only JR thinks Murray is worth a 1st.
2. A 35 year old goalie holds very little value. Add in he has put up not so great numbers the last 2 years and he has even lesser value.

His last 4 seasons, he has averaged a .913 sv percentage, that is inflated by one .927 year, and a 2.64 GAA. Being 35, he is getting ready to fall off the proverbial cliff. Pass on having to give value versus getting paid to take on MAF.

Pirri is done as a Knight. You might as well throw him in the trade so he can go back to the Wolves.

Sign Nosek, switch up the lines to have Tuch in the top 6 and it's an OK offseason. I have to disagree on no big changes coming though.

Carolina is not going to take Fleury without a LOT of retention and probably more from VGK. Why would Carolina take Fleury from you without payment when they can force you into letting Lehner walk and take a run at him?

There's probably no way Canes take on that amount of salary for a goalie who may be past his prime. Maybe with Canes getting the pick instead and Vegas retaining $1-2 million.

I think there's a plausible scenario here where Canes would do a bigger trade and send another player with Reimer (or Mrazek) to free up salary and cap space. I would guess one of Jake Gardiner or Nino Niederreiter. Vegas might counter by asking for Dzingel, who only has one year left at $3.3mil.

Eh idk. You can argue Fleury is better now than he was in Pittsburgh. The cap hit is high but I see no reason why a team desperate for a goalie wouldn't want Fleury.

If Mike Smith keeps getting employed, Fleury is worth that 2nd

I get theres a large age difference. But Murray is looking at a long-term deal north of 6 mil.
2 seasons of Fleury might even get you better stats than MM

His last year of Pittsburgh, sure. The 6 years before that his sv% were .921, .920, .916, .915, .913, and .918. MAF had a .927 first season, a .913. and a .905 the last 2 in Vegas. Not sure how that it is better than Pittsburgh.

Personally I think Ottawa is a good place for him. He would be a huge mentor for the younger goalies in their system.
Helps them hit the cap floor
