Toews has been great for has been awesome for the Isles, and the Isles really don’t need another center. I just don’t get why the Isles do that trade. I’d do the trade without Toews, but that just seems like peanuts for a decent prospect in Foudy. Don’t get it.

I doubt Hickey’s anywhere but Bridgeport next year. I doubt the Isles trade Bailey for so little after such a strong playoff performance from him. And I really doubt the Isles pay Greene that much. He’s very welcome back, but that’s quite a contract for a third pairing guy of his age.

The Isles proposed the trade. It is more like the CBJ reject the trade.
Fom the handful of key appearances Foudy has made when he came up from his junior team, every indication is that he will be the real deal like Dubois.

Pulock will easily get 6 x 6 Both Vancouver and Columbus decline. Vancouver doesn't have the cap space and Columbus isn't taking on cap dumps.

Never mentioned Leddy Vancouver can't afford him. Bottom line the Columbus deal doesn't benefit Columbus only the Islanders.

Yeah, and we've already got too many D, so Toews/Leddy aren't appealing to us at all. Toews would be competing for third pair, and Leddy would too, honestly.

Devon toews is already a #1 caliber defenseman and has elite underlying metrics at 5v5.

I knows foudy will be good , but he will not be as good as Dubois. There is nothing out there that suggests that...

Devon toews would be the best defenseman on the red wings and 2nd best defenseman on Columbus.

LMFAO sure dude doubt Devon Toews is better then Zach Werenski or Seth Jones so perhaps 3rd best on Columbus and he's no better then Filip Hronek and sure wont be better then Mo Seider.

Seth jones is the most overrated defenseman in the league. Hronek was a replacement level defenseman this season.

Seth Jones is still miles ahead of Devon Toews who's 26 years old and only has 2 seasons under his belt. And since when was Filip Hronek a replacement level defenseman this year? This is his 2nd year in the league he didn't replace anyone he deserved his promotion.

Seth Jones has been average in almost every aspect of the game besides the PK in the last two years. He has a flashy skillset and he puts up points, but he's not a great offensive player driver and he's not a top pairing caliber defenseman. Hes more of a very good 2nd pairing D.

Hronek was awful offensively, defensively, and on the PP this season. He's still young and has time to figure it out, I think hell be a good top 4 D, but calling him better than toews is delusional.

Kinda hilarious cause we have mostly the same takes too (I’m more willing to trade toews and Ebs than you are) could totally imagine people thinking we’re the same person hahaha

I’d trade ebs before I trade toews. We better be getting a top line winger if we trade toews, but IMO he should be untouchable

Toews in a gaudreau trade might make some sense but I agree there shouldn’t be much there although the only “untouchables” on the isles should be barzal and Dobson imo

Wouldn’t even want gaudreau. Don’t think he would fit well on the isles. I’d rather have ehlers or Connor

In fact, the same logic from your statement above is exactly why the Jackets would decline the trade.
Regardless of your disdain for Jones, he is definitely a top 10 shut-down RD in the league, and possibly top 5.
There is no need for more Defencemen in Columbus, their need is for more top line scoring forwards to replace Panarin after he left in UFA..
Panarin may not have been a center, but he was able to drive the play on the ice like a center from the LW position, and make all the players around him better.
Foudy is a center that looks like he has the skill level, hands, and vision to drive the play on the ice, and Jackets will not be willing to part with him.

And just to put in perspective (for those who solely measure on metrics as opposed to actually evaluating based on watching Jones play night in and night out, and underwriting the totality of the team around him): any top tier defender's analytics will take a hit with: 1) a very low scoring team, 2) a team with almost 500 man-games lost to injury (if the season wasn't stopped early) and 3) the majority of the remaining healthy roster a bunch of rookies and journeymen.
When the Jackets play healthy and have the talent in the lineup night in and night out rather than filling roster spots and people (forwards) playing a line or two above their ability, and they also start scoring the puck like Toronto, and Washington, and Tampa...Jones' on-ice metrics will improve considerably.
