Description

Sharks can afford to carry just 21 players this year, sending up and down guys like Suomela Gregor Gambrell Handemark DeSimone as needed because 1) next season will be a shortened one and have something around 70 games instead of the usual 82 so there’s less wear and tear and (probably) more time in-between games for call-ups and 2) because the Barracuda are also in San Jose just a few locker rooms down so no travel for home games for call-ups.

Why are the sharks wasting a 1st round pick they need to retool and draft. Earn some draft capital retool while you still have Couture, Karlsson Hertl and Meier in their prime.

If the first ends up being a late pick, this is an underwhelming return for Danault. If the Sharks miss the playoffs, this could be absolutely disastrous for them.
