Not bad could probably pay Demelo a bit less but idk if AZ would retain when also trading Kuemper

Carolina doesn't want Johnsson, they say no.
Arizona isn't retaining and doesn't want the spare parts. They say no (does Toronto want Hjalmarsson anyway).
Demelo term is too long, will cause issues.
Holl can't go on LTIR because he's not injured?
Too much to expect from Sandin to be NHL-ready, let alone top 4 on his opposite side ready.

-ok about CAR, could be anyone
-TOR does ARI a favor by paying Hossa, ARI returns the favor by retaining... give and give, yes TOR could use NH
-why lol?
-just to free up cap room
-he'll do fine with Muzzin who makes everyone look better

Insurance will be paying Hossa, the amount of retention actually makes Arizona pay out more than if they just kept Hossa and moved Hjalmarsson elsewhere. He was so banged up last year, and not as effective. Add in that he's not the fastest and I'm not sure he's going to make the Leafs better (and is a UFA in a year). I don't see him being superior to Holl to be honest, I'd rather look elsewhere.

Sign Demelo for that long and you will run into issues resigning Reilly in flat cap land. I don't want more than 2 years for a UFA dman. And with the lower salary cap they probably don't want that either.

You can't put someone on LTIR that isn't injured. And Holl played well last year, he is certainly a better NHLer than Sandin is right now. Slotting a 20-year-old kid into your top-4 and assuming he'll be fine because of his partner is not a good idea. Muzzin was injured twice last year.

Ok fine about the ARI deal. I’ll change the 2 2nds for a 1st.

Also LOL, no Holl is not good, the second Muzzin gets hurt he STINKS
