The Ehlers trade is going to need an NHL ready C along with Sanheim to get the job done.

Ok some constructive criticism:
1st- Haag ,Friedman and Borowieki are depth defensemen meaning they are good fill in but most likely they should be spending their careers either in the press box or AHL. Sam Morin is a bust, at least at this point.

2nd Alex won't sign here with that kind of line-up. He wants to win

3RD- As a Flyer fan I would never expect Winnipeg to take that deal-NEVER! If Im Winnipeg and Im trading Ehlers and Lowry then Im asking for Sanheim, either Konecny or Farabee, a 1st and a solid prospect-not Rubstov. actually that deal you proposed is pretty close but JVR isn't part of it.

In one year there’s a chance one or both of York and Zamula will be ready to take the next step. So long term it looks good. If that was the D next year I would rely heavily on Provy and AP to play 25-26 a night

Hagg and MB are serviceable 4-6 D. Friedman is a 6-7 but has been very technically sound in each appearance. Boroweiki had more blocked shots and hits than anyone on our roster last year. He also had fewer turnovers. He adds much needed grit .
He was also a +1 on an awful OTT team.

I think this is a lineup that can win a cup. They were the hottest team in the league before the pause and got better as the year went on. AP should definitely help with the poor PP as almost half of his points came on the PP.

For the WPG deal, I would think they’d want to be competitive next year. Losing Ehlers’ goals they at least get some replacement in that department, if not all of it from JVR. They get their stud D, a potential future 3 or 4C and a first. Adding in Lowry is more to make the money work as well as dump him. He had a very unproductive year for $3M cap hit. Either way, WPG can expose JVR in the expansion. They don’t have anyone else they would be looking to dump as their only other candidate would be little but he has a NMC. I don’t think it’s that far off
