The difference between 1 year of Hamilton vs. 1 year of Petry is a lot more than Poehling.

Hate to tell ya, but your players aren’t God.

Pesce isn’t worth Nylander +, like you’ve said in the past,
And Hamilton is not worth petry, AND suzuki!

Suzuki has a whole lot more potential than you think. If MTL adds Suzuki you better add necas or Foegele,

While I agree this trade is off, the difference between Hamilton and Oetry is way closer than Suzuki’ and poehling. More like petry poehling and a second or third.

We also like Suzukis and Fleurys so you can throw them in the trade as well

Wdym? I have valid points.
Suzuki could easily become a 40g scorer. You don’t trade a potential 40g guy, and a Potential middle six C, plus a top four RHD for a better top four RHD. Hamilton >>> Petry alone, but petry, Suzuki, poehling, >> Hamilton. And I’m not even a habs fan. I hate mtl.

Given that the Habs have the better of the two brothers in each set, this would seem an ill-advised move for Bergevin.

That also does not mean you can offer spare parts for canes players. Suzuki wouuld never get traded by Montreal, but a trade would need to include a better propsect than poehling. Im honestly not sure there is a trade that would make sense between the teams, but i imagine it would include Caufield potentially

I don’t know if I would said Nick Suzuki could easily be a 40G guy. That seems a bit premature.

Idk. 13g and 41pts as a rookie on a habs team with subpar wingers? I mean, who did he play with? Domi and drouin? Give him some real help on the wings and i dont think its out of possibility. he showed amazing promise.

13 goals and 40 goals are a bit of a difference though and it’s not like he has a lethal Ovi/Laine shot. I don’t even think he played with Drouin but rather some combo of Domi, Lehkonen, Armia, and Kovalchuk throughout the season. He showed promise but I wouldn’t label him a 40G guy until I see a bit more.

He might as well be dressed like Krusty. Dude is such a clown. Pesce is easily worth Nylander, and Carolina will not downgrade from Dougie without something like Suzuki coming back. No need, no want

Haydn >>>>>>>>>>>> Cale

Given that the Hurricanes saw fit to only offer Haydn, 24, a one-year deal at a reduced salary last year, I dare say the 'Canes don't agree. Or at very least, they don't seem too committed to keeping him around. Meanwhile, Cale, 21, spent most of last season in Montreal and remains a solid prospect for a 3-6 role next season. So let's just agree that neither Fleury is about to light the world on fire, but at least the Habs didn't waste a #7 overall on a decent middle- to bottom-pairing Dman.

I won't crap on either Suzuki as I think they're both going to be awesome. Not sure where Ryan fits in the Canes' plans, but I assume he'll find a way to shine.

The reason for this trade comes down to money. Petry will be pay less next year real money after the bonus he is payed 3mil. Hamilton is 6mil. Hamilton next contact is what 7- 8 mil maybe more? Petry maybe 6 to 6.5 mil. Now let's say Hamilton wants 9!! Carolina is not paying that, but Montreal can easy.
