I'd rather have Strome on RW than Connolly. Strome puts up better point totals, has great chemistry with Panarin, and can move back from RW to center to provide center depth if there's an injury.

This, That's a brutal deal for Arizona.

Rangers pretty easily decline both trades.

Over the last 2 seasons Deangelo/Buch have had over quadruple the on-ice value of OEL/Schmaltz according to the data. That's before we consider the contract implications both of which heavily favor Arizona...

What's missing here is how strongly ARI wants and/or needs to cut payroll. The possibility exists that they don't really want to take salary back, even if it is short term.
