Sabres should reject but these days who knows what they're going to do. Probably not as far off as people think. Maybe add a midround pick.
Yup, see below.

I thought the same thing. Maybe our own 3rd back.
Yup, see below.

Can't think of a team that needs a RHD less than the NYR and Montour has been one of the worst in the league for the last couple seasons.
That is simply not true, see below.

Mostly because he’s been forced to play LD. Try him on his natural side.
Absolutely, his stats were significantly better last year.

....when we say couple seasons we mean his time in Anaheim too when he was on his natural side opposite Lindholm lol.
at the moment his on-ice value over the past 2 seasons (about half of which was spent not in Buffalo) has been about equal to guys like Marc Staal, Johnny Boychuk and Roman Polak.
IDK about that comparison with Staal and Boychuk because if you go to

Montour is head and shoulders better than they, especially if you compare last year against them.
This I know and it is easily verifiable:
Montour had the best +/-, 5 on 5 SV% and second best PDO of all Sabre skaters.
Only Ristolainen had more TOI/gm than Montour (yup Dahlin ranked third)
Buffalo's defense gave up fewer 5 on 5 goals than all but 8 teams, all of them playoffs.
This with definitely sub par GK.
His stats with Sabres suffered terribly playing for Krueger as did Miller, Okposo, Vesey, Hutton, Sheary, Rodrigues and of course Skinner.
All had career worse years under Krueger.
Montour is NOT bad, and he is a top 4 defenseman.
I guess if Pegula said cut the cap, GM Kim may make this trade.
Oops, Kim will pull the strings on puppet Kevyn "sycophant" Adams and the trade may be made.
