I can only see the isles dumping one bad contract. Leddy and maybe one of bailey/cizikas will have to go.

Leddy still has something to contribute, making him both an unfortunate player to lose (compared to Ladd/Boychuck), but less expensive to get rid of. I get it.

For sure - id rather trade Leddy for a mid-late rd pick than give up a 1st rd pick + to get rid of ladd when it’s likely he’ll be on LTIR in the next two years.

Not sure how Bailey's a bad contract right now. One of the postseason leaders in assists on a 5m cap hit is pretty damn good value. While Isles fans are trying hard to drop Leddy, that's not necessarily because he's "bad". It's more that Toews now does what he does, but better, and his presence on the roster is redundant. Isles are better off moving him to make space for RFA contracts.

I'd say the bad contracts are Komarov, Clutterbuck, Boychuk and Ladd. Those guys are either not playing anymore or their roles are replaceable by other cheaper UFAs.
