This version places the higher priority on Cirelli and Cernak, rather than Sergachev. This agm also allows Tampa to keep Shattenkirk while still having both Foote and Brannstrom as options moving forward. I don't really believe that Tampa will shop Sergachev, but this is a way they could trade him and still have a solid defense going ahead. Not sure why the site isn't allowing '20 draft picks to be inserted in trades, so that's the reason for the way the trades look.

When we realized that Brännström wasn’t a franchise player, we still knew that he was a blue-chipper, really good D prospect that is worth almost Mark Stone. Sens are overpaying

Disagree but thanks. Ottawa hopes Brannstrom will show the same progression as Sergachev. Tampa is getting the player with potential, while Ottawa is getting the already proven NHL dman. A very late 1st(28th most likely) does not make this some steal for Tampa.

Yeah Ottawa isn’t gonna do this. Sergachev isn’t worth more than Mark Stone lol

Great, but that means nothing for Tampa. An Ottawa fan proposed this as the base of a trade, and in the very unlikely event that Tampa was convinced to move Serg then a trade like this would have a chance. Tampa isn't going to be trading him for less than a 1st plus very good prospect/elc type, and this 1st is very late. Again, if Ottawa wouldn't do it no problem, 20+ other teams would be very interested if he were realistically available.

Yeah I understand that. You'd probably have better luck going for CAR 2020 1st+Lundkvist from NYR, it just doesn't make sense for Ottawa to trade for him right now when we're mid-rebuild (it wouldn't be terrible if this was 2 years down the line as an acceleration move though). We also can't give him top pair minutes on the left

sens pass. We dont need more LD which is what sergachev is. Brannstrom prefers the right side. Sergachev hasnt really taken those steps people expected him to take in 2 years since he stepped into the lineup. Hes a solid top 4 guy right now but not a ton more than that. Brannstrom is our best prospect and were in the middle of rebuilding. We wouldnt give him AND a first for sergachev. If we draft drysdale i could see this happening, but without the first

Serg has taken considerable steps this year and has only played 3 seasons. He is projected to be at least a high end top 4 with a top pairing ceiling. At the moment he's behind Hedman and McD on the left, but he can easily switch to the right if needed. Again, no problem if Ottawa doesn't want him, but Tampa would quickly pass at him for Brannstrom 1 for 1.

Understandable, that offer from the Rangers would also be considered by Tampa. Serg is very likely going to be a top pairing dman sooner rather than later and can play the right side just about as effectively as the left. He's also just 22 so he definitely hasn't reached his peak yet. Anyway, don't see Tampa likely moving him but this trade from an Ottawa fan seemed to have some support elsewhere, so I figured I'd see what people thought.
