The Flyers are DRASTICALLY overpaying in the first two trades. This is how to destroy a team.

This is horrible. Huge overpayments for both Meier and Dumba.

You can probably take out the 1st round pick or San Jose can add Mario Ferraro and Philadelphia adds Robert Hagg's rights. Meier in Alain Vigneault's system would feast with Couturier and Voracek on his line.

For Dumba, you can probably make the 1st round pick conditional based on Gostsibehere's performance in Minnesota. If he doesn't reach a certain point total, the pick becomes the 1st.

Frost for Dumba 1 for 1 alone is too much.

Adding York to the Sharks is too much too, otherwise fair value.

Good call on the conditional for Ghost. Regarding the overpay comments, this is the type of return the Wild want for Dumba and I don’t see them moving him for (much) less.

Yeah I’m sure any offer is going to have to involve Frost or it isn’t happening. Don’t think the Flyers can afford to move him though with the Patrick health updates. It isn’t sounding too good for him sadly.

Jesus Christ. Literally shooting the franchise in the face just to acquire Dumba and Meier???

This is insanity lol. I'd honestly say you should be replacing Jim Jeffries on his next tour.

Have people forgotten that JVR was literally a scratch periodically in the playoffs this year? Making 7 million dollars? If you change York to Frost, sharks might accept. Othereise we probably decline.

Wild fans are hoping he gets better. And you are right, they need to have that next top C in the wings. But if Patrick gets better, it’s a good problem to have figuring out where frost moves to.

JVR being scratched was more because he didn't fit than it was him being bad as soon as Laughton was moved off the second line to center the third JVR played

You have to overpay for Meier because he's worth more to the Sharks than his actual value. That trade on value alone leans toward SJ, but it still doesn't get it done.

Philadelphia needs more stability on the back end and Frost's entire projection relies solely on his skill transitioning to the NHL level. I don't have serious expectations for him to be anything more than a 2nd line center and with Couturier, Hayes, Konecny, Lindblom, Voracek, and Patrick, he's going to have to outperform one of them. Gostisbehere has run his course in Philadelphia and if the deal is necessary, the 1st rounder can be conditional.

As for Meier, Philadelphia gets to unload JVR and move for an established top-line player who can still develop into more. Philadelphia is moving potential for known in Meier. Cam York is a solid prospect, but I don't think he'll be more than a solid second pair defensemen.

I would be perfectly fine with this move also:

San Jose Sharks
James vanRiemsdyk
Joel Farabee
Cam York
Robert Hagg
2020 1st round pick

Philadelphia Flyers
Timo Meier
Mario Ferraro

I'm not sure how it's insane to move potential for young players who are established. Philadelphia has been three years away from being three years away for the last decade.

This also doesn't "shoot the franchise in the face". Moving two late first round picks - who can't help the team for another 2-3 years, three prospects who, if everything goes right, turn out to be the players for which they are trading, a defensemen who needs a new team, and a player who doesn't fir their system for a top-line talent and top-four defensemen who are still young doesn't seem out of the realm of reasonable moves. Bobby Brink, Wade Allison, Tanner Laczynski, Yegor Zamula, and Isaac Ratcliffe are still in their farm system.
