Realistic Off-Season

Description
Despite all of these rumors, every Bruins fan knows that this is going to be a quiet off season and no real major moves will be made. It is unrealistic to expect this team to acquire a big time player through FA or a trade. I can see Sweeney moving one or two of the following players in a "camp dump" trade or to acquire more draft stock in the mid-late rounds.
Bjork: Low top 6 potential
Moore: somewhat of a camp dump, more just clearing a de spot and save some money
Ritchie: the experiment didn't work, if they find a decent deal, take it
Senyshen: He has to make the team this year or he goes through waivers
Zboril: Same thing as Senyshen
The bruins will try out their younger guys, and at the deadline, try to acquire a top 6 player.

Also if Cassidy decides to change the dzone to Man coverage rather than zone, I'm not sure how well Chara will fit into that.

Those other trades are possible deadline moves for the Bruins. I think those are all fair value. Also not all of them will retain. Salary.

3 years left on john moore means you have to pay something to get rid of him, if not you can keep him

So Detroit’s pick is going to be worth more than Boston’s pick in the same round and even in your description you know Moore is a cap dump. 3 years at 2.75M for a 7th D would cost to move.

Would not mind seeing a pick/Zboril/Seny for MoJo. Would be very happy with that. 👍🏻

That's what everyone assumes, but by going to a team that needs defensive help, Moore can prove as a valuable asset and is still somewhat on a cheap contract for a 5th or 6th defenseman.

again he is only a 7th de because the bruins have a deep defensive group.

Yeah the issue is we aren't taking on contracts from other teams unless they pay for it, so again if you don't throw in a 3rd this year then you can keep him

Moore will take 2nd or prospect to move. Bruins don’t have many prospects after Studnicka and they would traded their 2020, 2021 2nd picks in other deals here (the latter they traded twice). So probably talking 2023 2nd pick.

Ya, i don’t get all the hate towards Moore. A bit overpaid for a bottom pair d man, sure. But he is an NHL caliber player. Not some pushing 40 year old washed up waste of roster space. He excels at nothing but is solid enough at all aspects. He would be a regular for many teams. I think it was more the 5 years he got as opposed to anything else. I dunno.

If they can’t move him i see them making a deal with Seattle to take him.

Even in your team description,” Moore: somewhat of a camp dump, more just clearing a de spot and save some money” but now he’s got a cheap contract in your post. Seems like those conflict with each other, no? Let’s say he’s a #6 instead of a #7 and at 2.75M in a world with no gate revenue I’d wager most would say that’s overpaid. Teams have plenty of guys that can #6. Detroit next year if we sign a top 4 LD would have Nemeth/Lindstrom on that bottom pairing and Biega as a press box guy.

Well a cap dump in the since he's not being acquired by another team to improve them. Also this really isn't taking on a david backes or lucic contract. this is only 2.75 mil, and for Det, he would be a great add to the team. He can play a decent amount of minutes when the younger de are feeling the pressure, if not, he understands his role.

Honestly if you can't find a reasonable deal for Moore, just put him in the minors. If you're lucky someone claims him off waivers, if not and he clears you save just shy of $1.1 million in cap space.

I think it's a bit early to bail on Ritchie. I know he was frustrating with the penalties, but we praised Lucic for doing the exact same thing for years.

It wasn't a dirty hit and didn't deserve a 5m. Hence he did not get suspended. If someone did that to Oscar sundqvist or Blais last year, The Bruins probably win the Cup.

So a bad call and a defending of a teammate. I am fine with that. Bruins need to kill those

I wish he didn't look so doughy. He is a big strong kid with some skill though. They can work with the picking of spots.

My initial instinct without looking was that gourde was a pain in the butt before the hit and I don't remember him much after.

hawks aren't retaining half unless its at the TDL, and if it is, saad at half price will fetch more than a late 1st

            1. all of these are at the deadline, 2. that's just to fit the acgm.

We need a first and a good prospect if it’s from you guys.

I definitely see what you are saying. I was high on them getting him back at the deadline, but I think that's a valuable roster spot this year so if someone is open to makingan offer, you take it.

It depends on what you are willing to give up, if it’s a better prospect like Studnicka, we probably don’t need a first, or we at least send a better pick like our 2nd in 2021. (Although I fully expect that Studnicka is not up for trade)

I could live with any of Zboril, Vaakanainen, or even the goalie Swayman in the deal you proposed with Saad at 50%.

well 1, saad isn't actually going to be retaining salary, that was just to try and fit the acgm under the cap, and I think the first and like oskar steen is plenty for saad. Vaal and swayman are way to much grouped with a 1st.
