Jost is a cheap and defensively reliable and hard-working bottom 6 forward. I don't see why we'd trade that for a worse forward fit and an insignificant pick.

Why in the world? Matheson is absolute garbage and signed for *more than* Ghost and for the next 7 seasons. That's a hard no without real retention. Connolly is a nice player but definitely a downgrade from JVR. If the we are just trying to clear cap, this is less than ideal.

We would move him if we can get decent value for him in a trade. But failing that there's absolutely nothing wrong with keeping him around as a cheap bottom 6 forward. He's no a liability on the ice at all and is cheap.

He could do with moving somewhere where he can have a bigger opportunity with more ice time to break out, but unless we get a good offer we won't move him. A late 2nd or whatever only has like a 25% chance of becoming what Jost is now, so I'd rather just keep him if we don't get something good.

WSH probably pass on Boyd for a 4th. They need centers. That pick could get you Panik or Hagelin, though, if they're looking for cap space?
