Jones can be changed. Only names off the table in terms of younger players are Comtois, and Lundestrom. Let say you want to add steel. Ott would have to add a lil. Not too much.

If I was the Leafs I would never do anything remotely close to that. That is way too much. Gibson is awesome, no doubt about it. But seriously, what Sandin and Nylander bring to the table is far more than Gibson. Gibson helps this team maybe win 5 more games but take Nylander out and the Leafs lose as many if not more. Consider what Sandin looks like he'll be and this is even worse. Unfortunately the cost for a goalie is not nearly as high as it used to be. A good system can make a okay goalie look incredible, having a good goalie who can steal a game or two is good enough to win the cup. There are a lot of those available this year. If Gibson was on the table, he'd be the top option but even still, there are a tonne of good options. Andersen for one, Kuemper I think is also extremely good, Murray is a 2 time cup champ, just to name a few. Throw in that many teams will he forced to leave a goalie unprotected and even more guys become possibilities. Demand too high of a price and you end up watching your asset lose value. Like Manson, his value has dropped a big amount in the past 2 seasons. He used to be good but now he's a 2nd pair/bottom 4 on most teams.

I completely agree on some of your points. The leafs wouldn't be able to compete in a trade for him anyways. The farm system is god awful no offense. With these trades I tried not touching any players in the lineup and leafs where the only team with no good futures except Sandin imo. That said, with Manson fair enough I wouldnt say a big amount but enough not to get anything you see on this site. Lastly, these are responses from what ive seen thus far which have all been lowballs or robbery imo.

well they should. Not like a 1C or D but any other elite player. Also remember Gibsons caphit and term.

Please see Patrick Roy trade, greatest goalie of all time.... and I hated him.

Andersen is a good example of what a great goalie goes for.

Here’s the thing, they won’t trade him.

I say thats a lesson people should learn from. Not recreate. That would be hilarious if any gm cited that deal for how a trade should be. OFC he wanted out but yea no one should do that.

Disagree, Andersen is a great goalie. But looking over the time he was traded and this offseason they both don't relate to these scenarios. In Ana he was expendable and got appropriate value. In this off-season. He only has one year left and come off a lackluster year for FA standards despite great performance in the playoffs.

Lastly, agree 100%.

Agreed as well. They got good value on Andersen. A young starter with great numbers. Don’t see a move like that happening very often. There were certainly circumstances in play.

Andersen’s value is Obviously considerably less right now.
