Patrick is a former #2 overall pick and needs a change of scenery and hes from WPG, as does Ghost. He could return to a PP1 quarterback with 60 point potential if given more ice time with a different coaching staff. Laughton is a useful top-9 fwd, JVR could replace some of Laine's PP production, and Zamula is a very highly ranked D prospect, which last I checked the Jets are in need of. Two first rounders...I get your point but I still thought its enough quality within the quantity haha. What it it was Sanheim instead of Ghost?

Buffalo would be foolish to turn that down unless they have zero care about winning games. You think 1 year of Marcus Johansson is greater than the value of Jakub Voracek? Say what you want about Jake, he's still a Top-6 RW on about ANY team in this league.

For those two they would ask for Couturier, which is why it wouldn’t happen

because Philly has enough young talent to replace him with in Lindblom, Konecny, Farabee, Frost, Aube-Kubel who are all needing more ice time. I get it, you don't agree or dont like Voracek but don't be a crumb. I guess young talent you wouldn't know much about if you root for buffalo because outside of Eichel none of your draft picks pan out

sanheim would make it more enticing for sure but laine and ehlers are just too valuable to give up for that package still.

If I remove JVR, would you be interested in a package with Sanheim instead of Ghost for either Laine or Ehlers? I really want the Flyers to target one of them this offseason and I would be fine parting with Sanheim to get them. Myers is a deal breaker

Sanheim, Patrick and a 1st for Ehlers and Samberg... providing that Patrick is actually ok...

Patrick needs a change of scenery?! The guy has a migraine disorder. It's not as though a trade sorts that out. We're just going to have to be patient with him, frankly he has zero trade value right now.

The three worst times to trade quality for quantity:

(1) year before an expansion draft
(2) the year the AHL isn’t playing
(3) flat cap year

8-for-2 trades just not gonna happen in 2020.

Migraine disorder is part of the problem, but he's also going to have problems with fans and media in this town which will attribute to his stress and confidence. I think it's unfair, but seeing Lindblom return from cancer and play put the writing on the wall for Nolan. Did you hear the organization praising him, his teammates saying anything about him? No, he's on social media posting about buying a new mattress when his team is winning an OT game in the playoffs. That shows you how invested he is in his teammates and the organization and they see that. I bet you anything he gets shipped somewhere this summer.

I don't really buy into that stuff at all. If there were really deeper organisational issues we'd almost certainly know about it via at least one plugged in respected journalist. Fact is it's not news anywhere credible. Also Patrick has zero trade value. No team is going to gamble a large trade return on him as he's got the migraine issue. There's no upside to trading him. We won't get a good return, he wouldn't free up any meaningful cap space, and if he can play he's going to out perform his cap hit for us anyway.

you are correct on two counts, he is over paid and does not fit the Sabres time line.
I really hate disagreeing with you.
Just spitballing here.
Olofsson Eichel trade a RHD for RW
Skinner Reinhart Voracek
Kahun Cozens Okposo
Mittelstadt Lazar Thompson
Three scoring lines, Voracek and Skinner on Reinhart's wings would look awesome.
Improve the PK and PP this is starting to resemble a playoff team.
BTW large players have longer careers. I could see Jakob producing well to the end of his contract.

Lol, it’s ok to disagree bud!
Speaking of which.....
We NEED a 2C... and as much as i think we should try Sam there, the Sabres apparently won’t even consider it
That comes 1st imo
And I’m not trading assets for players that won’t help us in the long run
Playoffs are nice, but the team u lay out still gets beat by Boston & Tampa
