Ottawa accepts. Flames probably reject just cuz they don’t need a LD. Maybe a deadline move if they have like 4 injuries

That is probably the worst Ericksson trade so far. Why would Wings eat 12 million in cap for really nothing?

And before you tell us he is really not owed 12 million in real dollars, cap dollars are what counts. Team like Ottawa take deals which pay less and have higher cap and you have to rid yourself of 12 million in cap not real dollars. So please do not say that.

Not only do you not want picks but now you want a player back, pretty soon it will be Ericksson for Larkin straight up.

Take far more then just Juolevi to get Detroit to take on Eriksson's contract. Add either Demko or Virtanen on top of it.

Get over yourself. First of all, Ok. If Detroit doesn’t want it then maybe Ottawa takes it but why would a team like Detroit decline? They’re are gonna be terrible for the next couple years so why not get a decent defensive prospect and a guy who can keep them over the minimum cap while also being owed much less then his cap hit? If anything a player like that for a rebuilding team is perfect because they don’t want to have to pay a bunch of money for players while they’re rebuilding but they have to reach the floor. Maybe an extra pick is thrown in there but it’s not a bad start.

The Red Wings also have 35 million dollars of cap space this offseason and their only outstanding RFA is Tyler Bertuzzi so they are going to need to fill that room somehow. I’m sure other teams with major cap issues like the Islanders will come to Detroit and it will inevitably be whoever is willing to pay the price to rid themselves of contracts.

Ok I am getting over myself is not the problem, the trade proposed is the problem. On Cap freindly there have been several.offers which contain much better players and picks. Now this trade wants to trade a horrible contract for a prospects and no picks. What is that?

The Wings will not have an issue with the cap.floor as they have Bertuzzi and Mantha to sign. That should eat a good portion of the remaining cap. Also they ha e other holes to fill like a backup.goalie and a LHD defenseman with experience. Cap Floor will not be an issue.

Lastly there are other teams like Toronto, New York Islanders, Tampa and Arizona with cap issues and they will all be.vying to dump.cap to get cap.space to sign RFA's and UFAs. Why would we waste the cap.space to help Vancouver?

Ericksson is for all purposes done. Why would any team look to add a player who does nothing but take a spot of a player who is either a rookie or.mid level free agent for less money, better hockey skills and who can help the team, something Ericksson is not.

Look, no team is just not going to take on a 6 million in cap for two years for nothing, even if he is owed much less then his cap hit.

So how about you realize that Wings are Not a Charity and giving cap.space to the Canucks, to help them . Boston, Toronto and Chiczgo have all had to package picks and players with higher upsides to get teams to take on cap and this situation is no different.
