  1. Brooks, Adam
  2. Holl, Justin
Détails additionnels:
Holl gets shipped back to his hometown team in exchange for a mid round pick. Because of his MNTC, Leafs have no other choice than to ship him to a team of his choice, as a hometown boy I'd imagine he'd want to return to Minnesota. Because of his 2 Mil caphit a young adam brooks becomes the sweetner. Holl will likely see bottom pairing minutes with Brad Hunt.

TOR
  1. Grundström, Carl
  2. Walker, Sean [Droits de RFA]
  3. Choix de 3e ronde en 2020 (CBJ)
Détails additionnels:
Sean Walker comes to Toronto in a swap for Travis Dermott, who is arguably as good as walker but 2 years younger. Dermott is ready for a stint in the top 4 as the leafs have no room for him on the left side with Muzzin and Rielly, Will likely be their 2nd pairing LD. Grundstrom comes back to Toronto in exchange for Johnsson, Grundstrom has been a fringe player in their bottom 6 but is usefull on the PK and is signed to a cheap deal. Johnsson has battled injury this season but when fully healthy and with good icetime can reach up to 50 points. Will be a top 6 player on the kings.

Détails additionnels:
A solid bottom 6 player, Engvall can play any forward position. Useful on the PK and will likely be a regular in the lineup.

That Holl trade and your reasoning is moronic. You realize there are 21 teams the leafs can trade him to? And 2m is not a bad cap hit.

No reason for MN to make that trade. They have too many RD already. Brooks is 24, and again MN is stacked for LHS FWDs younger and better than him.

I really disagree with a lot of logic on this post. You say Dermot is top 4 material but then you trade him. How is UFA Greene good enough to be top 6 NHL Dman but only gets 700,000?
I liked Grundstrom as Marlie, but he couldn't crack the Kings lineup and was only so so apprarently in the AHL last season. Don't know how is now an NHLer.

As i said, we have too many d on the left and dermott cannot play right, With Sandin being NHL ready where would you slot Dermott? Greene is now 38 so it wouldn't make sense to give him more than a miol, plus Jason Spezza makes 700k? Grundstrom is a solid 4th liner and could flourish under the leafs system.

Dude Holl has a modified NTC meaning he chooses if he gets traded of not. Do you know any of the other teams he'd be willing to go to? no. I chose his hometown team because thats the only team im certain he'd go to. 2 Mil will be a lot of money for the leafs due to the flat cap idiot. Demelo is miles above Holl and I'd rather invest my money with him.

Ummm his mntc is a 10 team no trade list. Meaning every July he submits a list of 10 teams you can’t trade him to. And no, 2m is not a lot of cap space.

What makes you think Los Angeles wants him then, especially if the cost is one of their only 3 NHL caliber RD? The Kings want a minute-muncher for a season until Bjornfot is ready for the top 4, not to go and buy another young LHD that they don't need.

Johnsson will only reach 50 points in Los Angeles if you trade them Matthews and Marner to play with him, because he wasn't a 50 point player when he wasn't lined up next to them. Besides, they've already got Iafallo and Kempe, who are on much cheaper deals.

Don't know how Grundstrom can be considered a solid 4th line NHLer, He spend most of last year in the AHL and with Kings 4 assists in 13 games. Dermot can play right...lots of left-handed shots play the right side since 2/3 players are left handed. Why trade a top 4 Dman as you suggest. As we have seen teams need at least seven competent NHL Dman...really eight are needed during the season

Do you know those 10 teams? I'm just being accurate and placing on a team I know he'll go for certain. The cap is flat for the next couple of years due to covid and incase you haven't noticed the leafs are tight pressed. 2 Mil is a lot of money.

If Dermott could play right why was Cody Ceci paired next to Rielly during the season? Dermott CANNOT play right and if he could he'd be in the top 4. Walker is a solid RHD who has around the same value as Dermott so thats why I traded for him.

Johnsson was a bottom 6 player most of last year under babcock playing with the likes of Patrick Marleau and Fredrick Gauthier. Dermott will sign for no more than 3 mill and is a serviceable D man, theres no 100% guarantee Bjornfot will be a top 4 NHL D manjust like Liljegren and Sandin. Dermott has proven he is a ready D man in the top 4.

Leafs had three RHD last season...Holl, Ceci and Barrie. Leafs had Reilly, Muzzin and Dermot one the left side. Reilly, Muzzin even Dermot were on LTIR so that's the reason Dermot did not play that much on the right side. Why pick on Ceci? Barrie was the Leafs worse Dmen last season. Poor at even strength and so bad defensively he was the last resort on the PK.

The cap being flat is exactly why he should stay. Demelo signing is good. Walker trade isn’t happening. If leafs don’t have an upgrade they stick with Holl.

To be honest if leafs started the season with

Rielly Dermott
Muzzin Holl
And two of Lehtonen Sandin liljegren I would be fine.

Maybe even swapping Lilly and Holl as I think Lilly could learn a lot playing with muzzin.

If there is a hockey trade or a ufa that could be brought in and is the right fit I think you jump on it.

Dubas was forced to wedge ceci and Barrie in last year. Not that I was impressed by either... especially Barrie... but could you imagine our defence when Rielly and muzzin were both injured if we didn’t have those two.

Everyone is trying to get 6 nhl Dmen in these leafs agm’s. And of course there is always 3 left and 3 right. Give me 4 good nhl Dmen and 4 nhl Dmen. I will take that all day.
