I don't see Holtby coming back to Washington since he could make more money and get longer term

Holtby is just a place holder for any UFA backup goalie..... im just delusional and hope he would want to come back on a prove it contract with the capitals....

he really wants to stay from the reports but logic says hes gone unless he takes a massive cut

I understand that it's not the point, but Holtby would walk if that's the contract he'd get. You could snag a one-year stopgap like Greiss or Crawford with that value, though.

No comment on the other trades or most of the UFA signings; they look reasonable for the most part. Leivo would definitely ask for more than that, though. He could slot on a team's 2nd line in a pinch.

i was hoping during a flat cap era we could get a slight discount on Leivo but its completely understandable that he would/could get more money elsewhere
