The idea that Ovi would take a $2 million dollar hit on his current salary to sign a one-year deal where he gets the honor of playing on his off wing is... lovely fantasy. I don't think he's ever leaving DC, except maybe to finish his career in the KHL, and only then if he actually passes Gretzky's record. But if Ovi does sign for another NHL team, it would be for megabucks*powerball in a perfect situation, not a one year cut-rate deal.
On the other hand, if you think the Caps could get Panarin to sign a 6 year, $4 million new contract with the Caps... then still no. ;-)
