That was exactly what I was thinking. Seems like a smart move for both teams, he should be a lock for 50 points in the canes top 6 and gives Tampa some space for cirelli and sergachev

We still need to move a few more contracts. Would keep him if we could. Killorn has a modified NTC so I think he would go here. I have always been a big fan of Killorn. Many in TB until this year wanted him gone because of the contract. I've defended him many times: power forward, plays 200 foot game, plays PK PP, will put up 40 plus points every year, leader in the locker room and has missed 5 games in 5 years He is not a 30 goal scorer but should be close to 20. .

Yeah he would work well for a young canes team especially since Williams probably isn’t coming back

Meier arguably has the most value out of any San Jose player so it would have to be a lot

Meier - two prospects + pick (I had said Bokk, Fleury, 3rd)
Rakell - prospect + pick (Bokk, Bean, etc)
Palmieiri - about the same...but would eat salary either as dump or retention.
Killhorn - a couple of picks (two 2nd round picks perhaps)
Laine - two core players (Pesce, Trocheck) and maybe 2nd or 3rd pick
Ehlers - about the same

This is about what I was thinking for these guys. Laine would be super fun with the canes, the canes are arguably the best fit of any team. The canes aren’t going to move pesce tho, so I do not see it happening. I think Rakell or Meier could both be really great plan B options. I don’t think the canes would have any issue moving the 2021 first and a prospect, but not sure which prospects they would want to move. The canes have a ton of prospects they are high on but i would say Rees and Suzuki are probably the 2 least likely to be moved. Could def see Jake bean traded if they aren’t going to get him in the lineup

I would probably do that. Bokk would probably be the top forward prospect that could be moved. It’s hard to know how the team values all the prospects tho

That’s not even close on Meier. Maybe add a couple 1st round picks to that package and conversations can begin.

you are out of your mind if you think that's what Meier is worth, an alright prospect who had a bad year, a 3rd pair D, and a 3rd...

I wouldn’t agree with the assessment of bokk and fleury personally. Fleury especially took huge strides to be a top 4 dman

Maybe I am wrong, if SJS can get more, power to them. But that package, plus a couple of firsts, just to start conversions...c'mon. This ain't my first rodeo.

Fleury was last on the team in TOI/GP among D, and is 24.

Bokk had a good WJC, but regressed in the SHL, and for that to happen at 19/20, is a huge red flag.

Playing 13 mins a night is not a top 4 D-Man. At this juncture in his career, he’s a #6 and 4th on the Sharks depth chart at LD right now. Bokk’s numbers aren’t even good for a draft year guy. Nonetheless a draft +2 year. Guy who can’t even crack a half PPG in a Euro league doesn’t all of a sudden become a legit top line forward like Meier is in 2 years. Again, any trade for Meier begins with the package above plus two 1st round picks.

That package you proposed doesn’t even get the 9th overall pick that Meier was drafted with. Nonetheless a guy who was drafted there that has proven to be worth the draft position and not a bust and not in need of development time. That package maybe gets you Labanc, but even that is a tough call.

I never said the conversation starts with that + 2 1sts...

But Meier put up 30G 66P in 78GP in 18/19, before slightly regressing in the civil war locker room SJ sideshow that was this year.

30G power forwards don't go for a bundle of meh, the conversation would start with the TOR 1st.

I would trade that package for 31st overall any day of the week.

Fleury was great if u watched his second half the year when he was given elevated minutes. He plays on the third pair only due to the canes depth

Meier regressed last season - from 66 pts to 49 pts - at age 23 in NHL. Would be just as much a red flag, no?

Meier was 74th in scoring last year. 59th overall over the last two years (18/19 and 19/20). 91st overall of last three years.
Meier is a good winger, but hard to consider him an elite winger, or one that would require multiple young players plus multiple 1sts to obtain.

Suggest your counter-offer

D+2 and getting worse is a whole different game than a breakout 1LW having a step back in D+5, so no, not even close.
that doesn't even consider that in 18/19 we was playing with Couture, Pavelski, and Hertl. But due to injuries and losing Pavs, Meier played with Marleau, Goodrow, and Thornton the most...
SJ has absolutely nothing to worry about.

Meier was 42nd in G last year (led the league at one point), was 60th this year.

Again, I never said that Meier costs multiple 1sts + multiple prospects...

Sharks would probably hang up the phone, as they would stupid to trade Meier.

IF they snorted a few lines, then maybe they would trade him for TOR 1st, NYR 2nd, and Rees at the low end.
