Sen’s say nice try, not taking 9.5 mil in cap, or 2 players that have no movement clauses meaning we have to protect then in the expansion draft, forcing us to leave our future unprotected
Sen’s don’t make that trade for 3 first rounders

I think that's only true if they have a NMC. Eriksson has a NTC, and Roussel has a M-NTC, but no NMC so I think they're fine to expose. Even if that's true though this is only maybe enough to take Eriksson, gonna need to add like, another couple picks or Virtanen or something.

Any player with any no movement clause has to be protected, the 3 players in question submit 15 team no trades lists All theses players were signed before Seattle came into the league meaning Seattle don’t have to be on there no trade lists meaning Vancouver has to protect them. Ferland has a no move clause to and Seattle isn’t part of his clause either meaning he needed to be protected to.

If this is true then the expansion rules/tool on this site need to be corrected cuz rn it's only players with an explicit NMC that are required to be protected

They are all no movement clause the M just stands for modified the contracts where signed so the player could dictate where he could be traded or not be traded with Seattle not being in the mix when they were signed if they were exposed that would circumvent the CBA and the players rights. That’s how I remember it being explained in the Vegas draft and there using the same rules.

Go look at the MARC-ANDRÉ FLEURY contract he’d had to waive his rights so Vegas could claim him

Grin, @Alfie11 is right. The only clauses that have to be protected are no move. Both Eriksson and Roussel have m-ntc, modified no trade clause. At the time, Fleurys contract had a M-NTC and a NMC. Which is why the Pens had to ask if he wanted to go to Vegas. Paul Martin for SJ was exposed and SJ didn't have to ask him. Vancouver doesn't have to protect Eriksson or Roussel if they don't want to

@GrinReaper the predators exposed James Neal, who at the time had a M-NTC after their cup run vs the Pens. They didn't ask him and Vegas took him

I would probably accept this trade.

If Melnyk is willing to weaponize the cap, this return isnt bad.
