Why would they lose Demko in the draft? Play him one more year then move him out with Loui Eriksson next year.

Or they could try to make a deal with Seattle where they send them DiPietro so that Seattle doesn't take Demko. Next year's goalie UFA class will be weak outside of Freddie.

I've been pretty critical of Demko at times, but good lord he's been near perfect.

I still think keeping Markstrom is the move, but If Demko can get it done in game 7, it would not surprise me at all to see them decide to go with him.

Whatever decision they go with is gonna be risky. Cause if they decide to let Markstrom go and keep Demko there is always the risk Demko struggles being a full time starter. On the other hand if they decide to keep Markstrom and lose Demko there is the risk Markstrom does well for a year or two on his new contract but as he gets older his numbers start to drop while Demko with Seattle becomes an incredible young starting goalie for them.

I would say keep Demko as hes young and can improve as he gets older. But the issue is if Vancouver wants to stay a playoff team do they risk making him the full time starter and let Markstrom go. I dont know lul
