1Logo de Rangers de New York-The consensus No. 1 pick in the draft for the past three seasons. He had 112 points (35G, 77A) playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Alexis will go to a team full of offensive weapons, and with his offensive abilities, he will be an add-on. He is an elite playmaker but has a play style similar to Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks. If he makes the Rangers lineup, which he is more than likely to do, he would slide into their top-six with prospect Kaapo Kakko, along with elite forwards like Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad.
2Logo de Kings de Los Angeles-Before the season was paused because of COVID-19, Stutzle’s draft rankings rose significantly. Yes, Quinton Byfield would be a good choice, but his readiness to play in the NHL is questionable. In my opinion, Stutzle is more NHL-ready than Byfield. Plus, throughout the past few weeks, the Kings organization has gained more interest in Stutzle. He put up 34 points (7G, 27A) in 41 games this season playing with men. Another reason the Kings pass up on Byfield is because they have three good center prospects nearly ready to make the jump to the NHL (Gabe Vilardi, Alex Turcotte, and Rasmus Kupari).
3Logo de Sénateurs d'OttawaLogo de Sharks de San JoseYes, Byfield would be the obvious choice at No. 3. But Rossi plays in Ottawa of the Ontario Hockey League, meaning that the Senators would know his game at best. The Senators have drafted and acquired many prospect defensemen, so going with a forward would speed up their rebuild. Like Byfield, Rossi’s readiness to play in the NHL next season is uncertain, but if he does, he would slide into the Senator’s top-six that has become thin with Jean-Gabriel Pageau being traded to the New York Islanders. Like LaFreniere, Rossi has elite playmaking skills, but his biggest strength is point producing. He scored 120 points (39G, 81A) in 56 games this season, which is over 2 points per game. His big weakness that will affect his jump to the NHL is the size (5’9’’, 183). But some scouts say that Rossi does play biggest than his size.
4Logo de Red Wings de Detroit-If Byfield falls to No. 4, Detroit’s fail of winning the draft lottery would somewhat be worth it because Byfield was the consensus No. 2 pick until Stutzle improved his game. Needs to improve his physical play before making the jump to the NHL, but has ability to skate smoothly is there along with his size (6’4’’, 215). In 45 OHL games, Byfield put up 82 points (32G, 50A), which is tremendous for being one of the younger players in this draft. But I would not be surprised if Byfield gets taken by the Rangers, Kings, and Senators, do not underestimate his talents. I've heard some scouts say that Detroit likes Cole Perfetti best.
5Logo de Sénateurs d'Ottawa-This wouldn’t be considered a surprise pick by the Senators, but it is a shock to see Holtz being picked at No. 5. Most scouts say that Holtz is most likely to be drafted outside the top 5, but in my mock draft, he will go at No. 5. With the loss of Pageau, the Senators need goal-scoring. Jack Quinn is the best goal-scorer in this draft, but Holtz has a more well-rounded game than Quinn. Not only can Holtz score, but he can also make creative passes. Overall, his play style is similar to Pageau and within a few years, he can slide into the Senators top-six and be that replacement. If he makes the Senators lineup after the draft, he would most likely be a bottom-six forward. This season in 35 games, Holtz scored 16 points (9G, 7A).
6Logo de Ducks d'Anaheim-The smart pick would be Jamie Drysdale because of the small amount of defensive prospects the Ducks have, but for the past few seasons, the Ducks have lacked goal-scoring. Quinn being the best goal-scorer in the draft fits that mold. If Quinn is selected, it will be the first surprise pick of this draft because he is most likely to be selected outside the top 10. Plus, Quinn’s draft rankings have slid more than Stutzle as he was a third-round pick at the start of the regular season. Playing as Marco Rossi’s teammate, Quinn’s 52 goals was second behind Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Nick Robertson (55). Overall, Quinn scored 89 points (52G, 37A) in 62 games this season.
7Logo de Devils du New Jersey-Throughout the whole regular season, I have been debating that the Devils take goalie Yaroslav Askarov, but with the improvement of MacKenzie Blackwood, they will pass up on him. Instead they will draft a forward, and Raymond is a perfect option. The Devils are lacking creativity in the lineup, and Raymond is that type of player. Not only is he creative, but he also has a excellent wrist shot as well as great vision. In the Swedish Hockey League, Raymond put up 10 points (4G, 6A) in 33 games, playing under 10 minutes per game. Askarov is a good option, but since there are a lot of elite goalies that are UFAs, they will pass up on Askarov.
8Logo de Sabres de Buffalo-The Sabres will pass up on Drysdale because they have a franchise defenseman is Rasmus Dahlin. They will pass up on Cole Perfetti because of Jack Eichel being an elite playmaker, which is Perfetti’s play style. So instead they will look for prospects who can provide more offense, and Lundell fits that mold. Lundell is classified as the best two-way forward available in the draft. He has a great shot as well as great defensive skills, such as protecting the puck. Lundell also has the experience to play in the NHL next season because he is currently playing with men in Finland’s top pro league. In 44 games, he put up 28 points (10G, 18A).
9Logo de Wild du Minnesota-The Wild need help at center with Eric Staal and Mikko Koivu aging, so they will draft the best player available by position, which is Perfetti. He has elite playmaking skills, as well as perfect hockey IQ. Perfetti put up as many points as LaFreniere which was 111 (37G, 74A). If Perfetti makes the Wild after the draft, he will likely play in the bottom-six. Most scouts, including TSN member Craig Button, has said that Perfetti is a top 5 selection. Drysdale is a good option as well with Suter getting close to retirement, but they need help generating more offense. Some scouts have said that the Wild should take Askarov, but with Kaapo Kakkonen being close to making the jump to the NHL, Askarov isn’t the right choice.
10Logo de Jets de Winnipeg-Depth at defense was the biggest problem the Jets faced this season, and it is a miracle that Drysdale falls to them at this spot. They also need a No. 2 center as well, but the likely hood of any available centers making the NHL right away is questionable. But with Drysdale being the best defenseman in the draft, there is no way the Jets pass up on him. He can immediately step into the Jets lineup next season and contribute. There are rumors that Arizona Coyotes captain would be traded to the Jets and talk that Ville Heinola, who made the Jets out of training camp this season, would be ready for full-time NHL duty next season. If the Jets somehow get Drysdale, they will be set up for the future.
11Logo de Predators de Nashville-Mercer is specialized on the power play and penalty kill. For the past few seasons, the Predators have had problems on the power play and penalty kill, and Mercer can provide a boost. He plays a more defensive style than offensive, and if he makes the Predators roster, he would likely be a fourth-line forward but be a great asset to special teams. Mercer started the season with Drummondville then was traded to Chicoutimi. For Drummondville, Mercer put up 42 points (18G, 24A) in 26 games and for Chicoutimi he scored 18 points (6G, 12A) in 16 games. Clearly a very valuable player for most QMJHL teams.
12Logo de Panthers de la Floride-With the Panthers being a more offensive team, it would be time to search for defenseman. Sanderson plays a better defensive game than Drysdale but is less offensive. Plus, Florida hasn’t drafted a defenseman since Aaron Ekblad was selected first overall in the 2014 draft. It would take at least a full season in University for Sanderson to develop his game, then he will make an impact in the Panthers top-nine. Committed to play at the University of North Dakota next season, Sanderson scored 29 points (7G, 22A) in 47 games.
13Logo de Hurricanes de la CarolineLogo de Maple Leafs de TorontoThe Hurricanes have one the deepest defensive cores in the NHL (seven NHL-ready defenseman). They also have a goal-scorer in Andrei Svechnikov, but they are lacking secondary scoring. With Jarvis being an offensive player, he can fit that mold. At best, he will play fourth-line if he makes the Hurricanes roster. Like Mercer, he would also fit on special teams, mostly the penalty kill. According to scouts, Jarvis had a slow start to the season but was dominant after Christmas, scoring 65 points (28G, 37A) in 29 games. Overall, Jarvis put up 98 points (42G, 56A) in 58 games.
14Logo de Oilers d'Edmonton-Some scouts have said that Askarov is the best goalie prospect since Carey Price. Edmonton does need defense as well, but with teams having elite defenseman on the trading block, the Oilers could scout. Another need is a No. 1 goalie, and Askarov can become that someday. Unlike most goalies, Askarov has a right-handed glove, so could confuse shooters on breakaways. Under pressure, he is solid. In the VHL league, Askarov had a 12-3-0 record with a 2.45 GAA and a .920 SV%. Scouts have also said that Askarov has NHL-ready size right now (6’3’’, 176).
15Logo de Maple Leafs de TorontoLogo de Penguins de PittsburghLet’s assume that this pick belongs to Pittsburgh. If the pick goes to Toronto, the same outcome will happen. Guhle will be selected with this pick. Defense has been an issue for the Penguins as well as the Leafs in the regular season and Guhle brings physicality to the table. Guhle scored 40 points (11G, 29A) in 64 games. He will take a few years to develop, but that won’t be a problem for either the Penguins or Maple Leafs as they have solid defensive prospects. John Marino for Pittsburgh and Rasmus Sandin for Toronto.

I appreciate the work you put into this. But the Sens will take Byfield and Drysdale if this is what the other picks are.

Good job. I really think Ottawa should, with 2 top 5 picks, take 2 center (Byfield and Rossi), and be set for 10-15 years. It's a unique occasion. They will select a great dman like Drysdale next year, since their pick will be low again.

To clarify, when I was making this mock draft, it said that Pittsburgh had the 15th pick for some strange reason.

Thank you for the feedback and comments well appreciated. Yes, I would agree that Jets fans would laugh at teams that passed up on Drysdale.
