In this flat cap for 2 years era, I am not sure we will see this kind of term. I bet after the first handful of free agents get decent contracts. (Pietrangelo, Hall, Krug and a handful of others) the market will slow right down. There isn't a lot of teams who I bet will be a) able to offer big money and b) want to offer that much term. There is economic uncertainty due to the pandemic, there is a flat cap, and there is an expansion draft next year. Giving an older player cap and term will mean they can't protect someone else.
If I was a GM, I'd wait until a couple of days after the big rush. Bargains may start presenting themselves. From a players standpoint, I am sure some will want security but others may get squeezed and then look at short term deals in hopes of building value and cash in later on.
