I'd be willing to give him a shot... He put up more than a point per game in the AHL last year and that's more than we can say for anyone internally. I'd love to go out and get someone to play 3C but teams seem to be clinging to anyone that can play centre.

Fair enough, but give him a spot on the 4th line first and put Kahun at 3C

hes 27 and has zero nhl games. the AHL is littered with players like him. Think Cal Oreilly, think Mark Mancari, Tim Kennedy, and the list goes on and on and on forever.

In fact, Mtl declines not because they're not in on Montour, but because we need Domi to be packaged for a scoring winger...

So for me, it's yes to Montour - who fits the bill perfectly as a 3rd pairing RD with potential. But not for Domi.

Montreal has Juulsen, Fleury and Brooks that are all trying to crack the NHL at RD. I'ld let the kids fight for it and save the cap space.

Who or what would you be looking to move for Montour in that case? Knowing that Buffalo is looking for top 6 C/RW

Yeah, tough to say. I don't think the fit is good between Mtl and Buf, tradewise. I'd be willing to part ways with one of our young d-men + a 2nd rounder for a guy like Montour...

I think none of those 3 have Top-4 minutes in them, sadly. Juulsen may be the one with the higher ceiling, but still... I think a guy like Montour would be a nice fit.

Even if we judge none are top 4 potential (which is incorrect) without giving any of them a chance, Montreal still has Weber and Petry (rumoured to be extended). Montour playing on our 3rd pairing is too expensive.
