If Dougie is signing a 3 year contract @ $7.3mil, there's no way he's leaving Carolina. Team and fans love him. But it's likely he's looking for 5-8 yrs at $8-$9 mil.

I don’t think he signs for 3 years period. But at that short a term cap hit is likely to be higher. I expect he will want 5-7 Years at 9 and get close to it. He is one of the better D men in the league. Teams will have a compatible contract after Pietro signs this year
