It’s time for the daily Canucks fan questions... let’s get to it!
Okay...sooo... Stamkos. Personally, I love him, everyone does right? I know I’m crazy for even suggesting this, but what if he was traded?
He’s been the face of the franchise for a decade, he’s an elite player, and goal scorer, WHEN HEALTHY, and that’s just it. Over the last few years, he unfortunately hasn’t been. With not much cap to play with as it is, and 3 big RFAs to resign, in Sergachev, Cirelli, and Cernak, could a Stamkos move be possible? He obviously has to waive him NTC, but what if he did?
Who has the cap for him, who/what could you get for him?
Ideally, Tampa would want someone to take him without taking cap back, but that just seems unrealistic with the cap situations of many teams due to the flat cap, unless someone deals a big time player out.
What kind of offer would Tampa be looking at for Stamkos?
Also, is Killorn gonna get moved? I always see him as the main one being dealt to clear cap. What about McDonagh? Could he be moved out with Sergachev proving his worth.
I think TJ will be exposed to Seattle because he could go home and play. So I don’t trade him.
What kind of deals are the RFAs looking at? The ones I posted are my guesstimates, and taking the “No State Tax” discount lol
Lastly... any prospects I should look out for?? I’ve heard good thinks about Barre-Boulet, and what’s with Foote, Raddysh, and Katchouk?
Who is willing to take on his cap hit with his age and injury history in a flat cap, without needing to give the Bolts back salary in exchange? None of the teams that have the space to do so are in a position to win, so they a) won't want him and b) he won't waive anyways to go to a rebuilding team.
As for the RFAs, who knows honestly. After Point signed that ridiculous bridge deal last summer I wouldn't put it past JBB to pull off another couple of contract steals.

Avs might at least listen. The return probably wouldn't be enough for TB though, and I'd guess at least a little salary (Donskoi or Compher maybe) would have to go the opposite way.
