My suggestion would be not trade for 5.6m Hertl. He's only going to around for two years and there is nog enough cap and really is he going to that much difference to Rangers fortunates next year? Wait a year and make a UFA splash when Staal.Smith and Lundqvist are off the books. Of course some of that new found cap will have to spent on the the Rangers RFAs.

Your options for just fitting it under the cap pretty much are pay a team to dump Smith and/or Staal or trade Buch. That's pretty much it.

You do realize hertl is a 2nd line center and ziba is an elite center potentionally franchise? Nice try but you wont fetch anything near zibby and that offer there is too much so gl i dont want to overpay for a decent 2nd line center.

when it comes time to repay Hertl the Rangers don't have to pay Shattenkirk, Lundqvist, Staal, or Smith. I think it's pretty manageable.
