Danault is exactly the type of player we have been needing for years and we don’t need Sanderson or a winger at this spot. In answer to what Montreal would need to add to get Mantha. One of the guys listed as untouchable. Detroit has no reason to make that move without them. No matter how much Mete + a 2nd gets played up by Habs fans.

Jost and 1st even on an extension is to much. Newhook and Timmins are a pipe dream for MTL. What about Jost and Beaucage for Tatar and contingent on an extension?

Given that Suzuki, KK, and Romanov are off limits. I’d ask for 10OV + 16OV and I know Montreal fans are going to hate it but that’s what it would require to get our best offensive weapon in division.

Mantha would be great but not at the cost of both the 10th OA and Primeau for instance.

Also, trading Tatar for a bust and a late first isnt worth it imo.

Heres what Id do :

Domi and 16th OA to MIN for Boldy and 9th OA

9th OA, Alzner, Mete and Poehling for Mantha

As for Tatar, I wouldnt move him for less than what TOR got for Kap. NAS would be a great fit imo. For their 2021 first (top 3 protect and hope they have a bad season) or 11th OA if they feel like it.

Finally, a cap dump trade in which we would acquire an extra first rounder in 2021 (Eriksson, Steen?).

Not so sure tbh... Domi is worth more than Boldy. The difference is filled with the two picks switch. This would happen if none of Rossi or Lundell (unless they dont like him) are available at 9. MIN could still grab a lesser C prospect at 16th if wanted
