Zero chance of the Ehlers trade happening.

Montreal really has nothing in their organization that would interest Winnipeg for Laine.

Looking at the Habs roster, probably only Suzuki (despite being undersized for a centre) would be of interest to the Jets. Habs won't trade Suzuki, so none of the Jets top players are going to Montreal for bottom 6 forwards or bottom pairing defenders.

You’re probably right but Domi offers versatility can play centre and the wing and I think he could be available along with a guy like Tatar who is very underrated and Mete is third pair for now with as a 21 year old he’s not even close to his prime yet. To give up a really good player getting a package is often better than getting a
1 for 1 deal Winnipeg has a lot of high end talent but needs extra lives and Montreal has way too much depth players and lack the high end game breakers

I just don't believe their is enough on the roster of the Habs to pry Ehlers away from the Jets. Essentially the trade is Ehlers (5-years remaining) for Domi (RFA, arb), and one year of Kris Russell (who is a below replacement level defender) and futures. That is nowhere near enough. Tatar is older, slower, less skilled and has less term than Ehlers. Winnipeg doesn't need extra bodies on defense, they need better ones on defense.

Anyway good luck convincing people.

What are you talking about? He’s the same height as Crosby, Hughes, Duchene & Giroux, an inch taller than Point, and 2 inches shorter than the league average height.

And it isn’t the 80s anymore. Height means absolutely nothing anymore, other than for goalies.

To loosely quote Watto:

“No (top 6 forward) is worth 2 (top 6 forwards).”

Which probably isn’t true, but there’s no chance the habs trade Tatar and Domi for someone who might be slightly better than Tatar. Not to mention the fact that we aren’t giving up a 2nd+ for Puljujärvi.

You missed the point where I said that the Jets would be interested in Suzuki. That said, continue your rant. I'm out.

I know you weren’t saying that he wasn’t a good player or anything. I’m just trying to say that height means nothing in the NHL anymore.

I never offered a 2nd for Puljujarvi but I absolutely would in the Habs position with 3 2nds this year. They need to take chances to get elite talent. Puljujarvi still possesses that upside. They absolutely need to take a chance by packaging depth players for high end scoring players. Some teams are in opposite positions. I see the jets and oilers both as those types of teams

I don't think this would benefit any team other than Edmonton
