Severson is much better than Demelo both offensively and defensively. Plus hes younger. Only reason his numbers were bad this year is he played on his offside for a bit and was not paired with a good partner. Put him with Rielly that changes quickly.

In general unless hes included in the NJ trade thats not equal value for Nylander. Rn most Devils fans see it as (Zacha + Severson + Van 1st) for Nylander alone

I could see the Kings going for something like that. They don't need the cap space for the next two seasons so they'd be fine retaining the salary on Carter. When they finally do need the cap space, Carter's retention would fall off.
