Columbus declines and it’s not even really all that close. We don’t need or want a goalie back and we don’t need or want to move a goalie.

Expansion draft? Probably not close but how much would they cost. Either of em.

Merzlinkis is exempt...... if we’re trading Korpisalo or Merzlinkis look at the Cory Schneider and Martin Jones trades.

Arizona declines. Too many pieces moving. Especially for Chychrun who they ( and I ) are very high on.

That might be what it takes to get Dvorak and Chychrun out of ARI, but IMO that’s a massive overpay

I think this trade shoots the sabres into the playoffs and contention for the second/third rounds.

You can't just take guys who are 23/24 on good deals without overpaying a lot. I was considering Reinhart, but I figured if you move for these 2 they are trying to shed cap. Taking Reinhart would add cap which is something they probably wouldn't want. I like Chychrun lots, that's why I wanted him, and Dvorak is the perfect 2C. Faceoff winner, 2 way player, who scores 40-60.

So in the Jones it was a late first, so I gave an early second. Maybe someone like a retained Marcus Johansson?

Late 1st.... try a top 15 pick.... Schneider was 9th OA and Jones was 13th or 15th (tbh I don’t remember which one that was from San Jose to Boston). Both of them had better numbers, so if you want us to take Hutton as part of the trade (who costs more then Korpisalo does) we want 8th OA coming back.

Arizona needs a bit of cap space but not much, especially if they arent signing Hall.

Exactly. Maybe 8th OA is a stretch but the fact that Columbus no need or want to move a goalie mean someone will have to overpay for one of them if they really want one.

Is colombus going to just cruise into the expansion draft and let one of them walk or did I miss something like one of them is exempt?
