We'd probably ask for more value for taking on Boychuk, and there's no reason to trade Gaborik when most of his deal is insured. Perry will probably sign with another cup contender but if we can find another older, cheap, depth forward with a winning pedigree who would rather have a couple mil than a shot at a cup and is willing to serve as a mentor to ease rookies in rather than throw them to the wolves, that would be great. We don't need goalies. I don't hate the NJD trade, I like Subban as a person even if he's lost a step on the ice, and he's been to a recent cup final, that experience would be helpful for a young group looking to compete for a long time (he'd be a good mentor to guys like Chabot/Brannstrom and take away much of the media spotlight, which would be a blessing). Not bad overall, I like the concept here.
