I don't see NJ trading for JVR, Jersey guy or not. The 3rd round pick should probably be coming with him, not for him, too.

I think hall is either going to Dallas or Colorado.
He won't go to the penguins, WSH or Boston because their core is too old.
TOR, STL, VGK and TB are cap strapped.

They just make the most obvious choices as far as teams with cap and will have a few years competitive window without cap issues.

Hall won't sign with you guy. He's gonna have to play more shut-down hockey than offensive hockey. Don't think that's what he wants.

IF hall goes to colorado they become a pretty deep team. I know seguin and gurianov are young with heiskanen, but benn, pavelski, radulov. Even the goalies, bishop and khudobin are getting older. If bruins core is too old so are the stars.

I'm so happy Philly is stuck with that Ghost contract now. Serves them right for overvaluing him 2 years ago. Thank god Philly turned dowm Mtl trade offers last summer.

Hintz is younger too and so is most of their Dcore.
I don't really look at Jopa as being being their core.
Benn is only 31 and all their older contracts expire next year or the year after.
So they can retool and still be in contention.

Dallas could be competitive for some time, especially with someone like Hall on the team.

Benn looked awful in the regular season, he has looked better in the playoffs but i wouldnt say he will be a 70+ point player again. 2 lesser years, i just dont see it. Stars have nobody to replace the older contracts though. thus why they gave those guys deals. Outside of harley and dellandrea their prospects are meh. They are essentially rolling 4 dmen right now because polak left and johns was hurt for 2 years. I did forget about hintz, hes a stud. but to go back to the bruins for a second mcavoy, carlo, pastrnak, debrusk, grz, studnicka, coyle, kase, bjork, this team has plenty of young guys that could be the next core. We will see. I dont want the bruins to get hall for what its worth just think if you are gunna say the bruins core is older that you wouldnt include the stars too.

Hall will probably go to a team offers him the most $$$. I really don't see that many teams that are going to be that interested in in a long term expensive deal for him. IMO, one of two things are gonna happen with Hall. He isn't going to near the offers he expected pre Covid and with the increase in $$$ of RFA contracts. Second option, a team pays him big money and term and regrets it very soon.

it's clear you are a boston homer. Get over it. Their core is old. There isn't much there with out it. They provide like 60% of the offense on one line that has 2 guys aging out quickly.

tell me more about how marchand is aging out quickly?????? bergeron ill agree with. that groin issue is going to only get worse as he gets older. But Marchand looks older? No doubt im a boston homer but no chance. Marchand turned 32 in may... benn turned 31 this summer. yet marchand had more points last year than benn had this year AND last year combined. oh and was on pace for 102 this year. do they have anyone to replace bergeron? nobody will ever be able to replace bergeron but they have capable bodies and potential prospects and could always trade for a center that isnt as good but could be a 1c... i mean the blues traded for 2 first line centers with RoR and Schenn.

That is a good comparison, though I think Hall is better. Skinner was an example that we see often, a team trades for a player on an expiring contract and then feel they have to resign him to justify the trade.

this is EXACTLY what i think Arizona is about to do. They do need his talents though. Skinner i think most people could tell shouldnt have gotten that deal.

I'm not blaming Hall, but I believe Arizona was in first place when they made the trade for him, and they did worse with him. Hall in 35 games with the Coyotes was on 65 point pace for 82 game season. Is that the guy any team wants to sign long term?

i dont know the exact dates, i can look it up, but kuemper got hurt around the same time as the trade. keumper was easily the best goalie in the nhl until his injury.

edit: Hall traded 12/16 Kuemper injured 12/19. Didnt return until 2/25 massive difference. But i think its been proven now through hall's career he is a complimentary piece, he isnt THE piece.

You keep arguing how the core in boston isn't aging out.
Dallas has a lot of younger guys who are 20 goal guys, giving the team depth, they have a 1C center relatively the same age as hall. Their older players contracts end in 2 years.
This isn't about 1 or 2 years. This is about the 5-6 years he'll probably get on a contract and being competitive that whole time.
You can keep claiming you do, but everyone knows Boston's window is not that large.
Take the homer glasses off.

Dallas has exactly 3 players under 30 who are 20 goal scorers: gurianov, hintz, seguin. (taking this strictly from this year) not sure how that is "alot of younger guys" they dont really have team depth once the veterans walk but that will open up some considerable cap space but bishop is 33 and cant stay healthy khudobin is their starting goalie right now, hes a ufa. you telling me they have a goalie waiting in the wings ready to go right now? Im not saying bostons window is large, im saying if you think Dallas's window is large, then so is boston's.

Bruins have 2 right now with coyle being close, grading out at 19 over an 82 game season as a 3c. kase getting a full season here i guarantee hes a 20 goal scorer for the bruins. The issues with the bruins are what happens with rask after he opted out and hasnt won anything going into a ufa year. What happens with Krejci, and how long does bergeron last? you keep saying their older players contracts end in 2 years for the stars... Krejci UFA 2020-21 Bergeron UFA 21-22. Rask 20-21. 21M in cap space if none of the 3 get resigned. youre telling me they cant get a high end guy or two? dream on.

I dont need to take them off to know what type of hockey this team plays. Bruins havent been about beating teams 7-6, as long as they play sound defensive hockey they will be fine. I understand you have to score goals but you dont need a million goals if you keep the puck out of the back of your own net.

edit: not to mention hintz, gurianov, faksa all rfas this year, and khudobin and janmark are ufas. i dont know if they have the money to bring hall in without losing some of that depth.

Please tell me where i said I wanted hall to be a bruin? all ive argued is your flawed logic because you hate the bruins. For the FINAL time if you are going to include Dallas in the mix why wouldnt Boston. and once again so it doesnt look like im mixing words... I DONT WANT HALL ON THE BRUINS.

There is no flawed logic here. You don't have a younger 1C for him to play with. Period.
How the F can't you get that through your head.

thats not a "core" thats a 1c. You could have easily said, the bruins have no centers in the pipeline to which i would argue they arent as talented as seguin/bergeron but could be lesser 1c's and then have said hall wants to play with an established center... but again next year they will have 7m of krejcis money available unless they sign him back. they will have 5m from krugs deal this year unless they sign him back. They HAVE CAP SPACE to go GET A 1C to replace bergeron IF THEY HAVE TO.
