Dumping two years of Fleury won't cost that much.

Wouldn’t be surprised if a contender than needs a goalie will pay for Fleury (or at least ask for less of a sweetener). It won’t cost Vegas that much to trade Fleury.

Nonsense, nobody paying anything to take on a 36 year goalie by next season making 7M. Unless you want to retain half on him, but that defeats the purpose of saving the cap space. Maybe if he only had one year left, but that extra year really gonna hurt imo

What if it was your 2020 1st which seems pretty likely to end up in the 28-31 range and takes out the uncertainty of next year?

Ottawa, San Jose, Calgary and Detroit all need a goalie. Fleury can still play the game and be better than most back ups. Marleau a player who is only cracking 3rd and 4th lines was dealt for a 1st as an example of worth. The most a team is getting is a 1st based on trades that have been made this past year. I can see Ottawa beating out the Red Wings with their ability to throw a pick back with little damage and can convince Fleury to wave NTC to be close to home.

Long story short you can't grift Fleury for more than what Marleau was worth
