idk what im doing so dont get mad

This defense is very weak - NJD will likely get a shot at lottery picks in 2021 and 2022, and then will start to get competitive after that. Tons of salary comes off the books in 2022 so they can pay their young stars and add a couple new players from UFA/trade

9 first round picks in the next 3 drafts isnt bad

I don't think the Devils get that much in return, but I like the idea, punt on next year let's see who can play. Hopefully draft Power 1st/ 2nd overall and have Smith, Bahl, and Power for defense.

Also don't think the Devils trade Severson, not that him and Subban are untouchable but without both, both right/ left sides go to crap.

The only reason we'd move Steen would be to keep Pietrangelo. If we're keeping Pietrangelo, we can't take cap back.

I made a quick Blues team to check the cap before posting this but im not a Blues fan so I may have done something wrong - heres the link if you want to see: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1858844. After this Steen-Palmieri trade if you also move out Allen and Bozak there should be space for Pietrangelo as well, unless im forgetting someone

The difference between Severson and Dermott is not a first round pick. I think the Leafs will be stingy with their first round pick next year and not move it unless it’s in a significant team changing deal.
