I dont think so. Florida may not have been looking for a Center for defender trade at the deadline. Carolina gave up a 2C (rental) and 2 4Cs. Florida may have only wanted more center depth if they were trading Trocheck.
"As The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun speculated in his notes column Tuesday night, the Wild have expressed interest in Florida Panthers center Vincent Trocheck in advance of Monday’s trade deadline, The Athletic Minnesota confirmed via multiple sources this week.
General manager Bill Guerin does not want to trade defenseman Jonas Brodin, but if the Wild were to obtain a package that includes Trocheck, the price would almost assuredly be Brodin, who has one year left on his contract and will command a significant raise from his nearly $4.2 million.
The Panthers are looking for a left defenseman to skate alongside Aaron Ekblad and the Wild have long been after a center. " Michael Russo,

" Trocheck’s production has been down the last two seasons, so there’s that. But he’s 26 and on a very good contract which carries a $4.75 million cap hit for two more years after this season.
The Panthers have no problem scoring goals and have forwards in their system ready to make the jump.
If a team makes an offer featuring a bona fide top-four blueliner who is signed past this year, I think Panthers GM Dale Tallon has no choice but to at least consider it.
I wonder about Minnesota as a potential fit. Jonas Brodin is exactly the type of quality, left-handed, top-four D the Panthers would need. My sense is that Wild GM Bill Guerin is increasingly inclined to keep Brodin in the fold. But, if teams call, he’s going to listen. And I do think Trocheck is a player of interest for him."
