Just feel like a little shake up

Description
Some moves I wouldn't mind seeing. Just feeling like the current roster is a little stale.

Trades:

Preds are a bit of a weird case. Not sure what the direction is with them, but Poile has been vocal about changes coming. I think this is pretty fair value.

Thought the Rangers swap could be good for both teams. LD that can play who is still young for a struggling prospect that the Leafs could potentially get a cheap depth performance from.

I know Flames fans are really feeling themselves with Bennett right now, so if they don't want to trade him, that's fine but this is more than fair value for him.

Signings:

I know the cap is tight, and my potential generosity in the Leafs favor on some of these signings doesn't bode well for that, but I don't think any of them are absurdly unrealistic.

Draft:

The extra picks in this draft could help replenish the prospect cupboard with potential graduations of Sandin, Robertson, Liljegren and optimistically others coming over the next few years. Some of my personal favorite potential picks include (and yes, I know many will be off the board by then): Khusnutdinov, Brisson, Barron, Andrae, Simontaival, Bordeleau, Savoie.

Nashville has like 14 right handed wingers for their 3rd line, i dont think they need another.

    Flames decline

Is Kapanen really valued at two 2nds -- especially both being in 2020? I don't see Nashville paying two 2nds in the upcoming draft -- they would definitely space them out over 2020 and 2021 if that were indeed the price. Not sure I see them paying that though. But I think a swap with Jarnkrok or someone makes a lot of sense for both teams. Maybe something around Jarnkork + Watson and Kapanen + Holl with picks evening things out.

Bennet is having a great playoff so now he's going to be the next Fernando Pisani. Why on earth would a team just give away Dermott for nothing? And yes a former first round pick who is by all accounts a flop is nothing.

With that said, I do like the idea of Bennet but I think Loughton is the better add, I also think Kap to LA for Roy and whatever we can get is smart.

I think there are likely more than one team that would see Kapanen as a fit. Florida for Weegar makes some sense, LA and Roy just to name a few. Personally I think it'll end in disappointment because he isn't all that great

Rangers accept. Lias in Toronto could be a good fit.

Seems a fair price. 23 year old winger who has produced at a 2nd line rate over the last two years that has two years left until RFA expiry.

Not a fan of the suggested trade. They'd be losing out big time on potential term between Jarnkrok and Kapanen - though with the cap difference I don't hate that portion of the deal. But the Holl and Watson add-ons make that a steady no from me.

I like the addition of Bennett as well, but yes, Flames fans are getting carried away with his value with this playoffs. As I said in the description, this is a more than fair offer, but I figured they'd still probably not like it.

I don't think that's nothing for Dermott. Andersson, while never going to live up to his draft position could still become something. Could the Leafs get more for Dermott, sure, probably, but it's not like they'll get a kings ransom.

I'd want a pretty significant add-on to Roy from LA. I like that he's cheap, but he's played one full season and not against very good competition. I'd be interested, but depending on what else is coming along.

Dermott Is worth keeping over that return. And yeah maybe Kempe and Roy for Kap?

It was just a move to get under the cap really. Unless he signed his QO the team would've been above - just looked for a team that needed LD and grabbed a no cost asset. Think Kempe is probably too much.

Probably and he is better than Kap but for some reason Kap gets all the love

It's pretty easy to understand why he gets it. I understand you don't like him, but there are many things that make him a very solid trade chip.

His speed entices you but I just don't see him having the will to become the player needs to be. I think he wants to be an offensive player but just doesn't have the skill to be a top performer in that regard and just doesn't have the smarts to be a two way guy
