Just where are you going to send your bloated contracts? Every team lost millions of dollars this year, and they will lose tens of millions more next season with no ticket sales. No one is going to spend to the Cap next season.

They aren't my contracts I am a Sabres fan. Just being realistic. An owner isn't going to OK spending millions of extra dollars for an upgrade in a prospect coming back in a deal. Bozak and Allen still have value. If St Louis cannot find takers for them at a reasonable cost then they keep them and don't resign Petro

Allen is an upgrade over Hutton.
Bozak playing with Skinner would do great and give Cozens more time to develop.
Both contracts expire at the end of the year freeing up over $9,000,000 for Dahlin.
Trade for a LHD to balance the pairings.

In a situation where all teams were not under a financial strain I would agree. With all teams likely losing money this season and next and the Sabres likely operating from an internal cap this is not an easy yes for the Sabres. I would expect they would want a value contract like or a pick attached to make sense on the deal. Buffalo is paying out 5.5 million more in salary and taking 6.5 million more in cap dollars on the deal.. Both Bozak and Allen still are effective players but both are overpaid and their contracts are preventing St Louis from adding/retaining players that offer more value to their team.

St Louis should add here but not a major piece. B prospect or 2nd round pick should suffice
