Backlund isn't waiving for Winnipeg, Jets don't make this trade anyway, really like Backlund though, one of the more underrated players in the league.

This team isn't any better then it is now, still has a big hole in its top 6, Vesey definitely isn't a top 6 winger and it's debatable if Mangiapane is either, would be far better off taking some of what you're spending on an expensive 3rd pair dman in DeMelo, that bum Vesey and bottom 6 guys like Pitlick and Maroon and spend it on some top/middle 6 wingers cause with what you have here this team would struggle to make the playoffs.

Johnny disappears in the biggest moments every playoffs. They aren't going to win with him.



I dont think Mangiapane is 2nd line, nor Vesey but both are young, sign for cheap and are trending upwards in points and plus/minus. Signing Maroon and Pitlick is for grit and experience. Flames have a lot of smaller players. Both Maroon and Pitlick can score a little and add some sandpaper to the team.
