How about you just trade the future pieces to Pittsburgh and then do whatever you need to with Andersen.

Murray for Kapanen, 3rd.

Andersen to ... don't really care.

I think the Gudas signing is stupid, the leafs have both Sandin and Liljegren on the farm, and it’s highly likely that they’ll be with the big club this year.

I don’t get why you’d pick up Larsson and trade Holl. I think Holl is a decent shut down option, especially with Muzzin, and about $3 million cheaper than Larsson.

Clifford is not going to sign for essentially league min.

I don’t get why everyone wants to trade a player when they’re in a contract year (Freddy). You can resign them.

And finally. Keep Kapanen, trade Johnsson.

Yeah, and sending Andersen to Pittsburgh misses the mark. Do the 3 team trade, do the leg work, or why bother. The Trade Machine option makes it easy, just the way Leafs fans seem to like it.

Yeah I'm not a fan of what i put out this time. Larsson is more due to the Larsson is available stuff. I think Gudas is the defenseman they need rn. Hes a big defensive guy with snarl to his game. Sandin and Liljegren i feel like keeping in the minors to get the maximum amount of ice time and work on the little kinks. I have been against signing Clifford forever, so I was trying to figure put how terrible it would look if he took less than what he would ask for. Finally, Andersen would want a raise, and the leafs cant afford it. Hell, the talk of the town is already "Andersen will be allowed to walk without an issue and Gudas is already refered to as the future leaf"

No no, because i didnt factor to where he would go, but he would shoot right past pittsburgh (similar to the Lehner deal this year)

In the Lehner deal the middle team was there to retain additional salary. Pittsburgh would be the middle team in your "shoot right past Pittsburgh" scenario, but Pittsburgh into going to give up the higher value guy to retain salary.

You are trading for Murray because you know the value is higher. Even in the Pittsburgh flips Anderson scenario Toronto need to give up considerable more than just Anderson. Pittsburgh is not going to get much (anything) for $5M Andersen.

So if you want Pittsburgh to do the work on pawning off Andersen to someone...
Murray for Anderson (to flip for nothing), Kapanen, 2nd
Murray for Anderson (50% ret, to flip), Kapanen, 4th

Makes sense. I wasn't intending for the retention, It was more that
Toronto-->Murray
Team 3-->Andersen
Pittsburgh--> assets from team 3
