    COL declines.

Maybe Kaut + Timmins for Nylander + Sandin if your interested. Other than that, COL has no need or desire to move any pieces

To me Sandin=Timmins. Nylander for Kaut is a stretch. What about Bowers +? Or Burakovsky for Nylander and Toronto adds Dermott and a first?

COL isn’t swapping out a top 6 guy for a top 6 guy it puts them right back where they were. Newhook in any trade outside of Matthews is a no go. COL isn’t really keen on moving Timmins because he is slated for the top 4 because COL knows the pain of a bad defense but for Nylander I think they listen to what else is wanted in the package.

This deal from the start doesn’t make sense for COL but I’m entertaining for the fact you put time and effort into it.

The only difference between Timmins and Sandin is LH vs RH. What do you need more sort of thing.

Newhook is COL best F prospect and is needed to fill C when Kadri is gone in two years. Both he and Byram are on the same plateau of “you need to overpay 10 fold in order to convince us to move them”.

I proposed Kaut as he’s NHL ready, on his ELC and is RW (meaning you’ve got someone in the ranks to eventually fill Nylanders RW hole). Now while Kaut isn’t enough value straight up for Nylander, you need to consider the 6mil in savings TOR gets back. Although COL probably needs to add a 2nd to balance it out. Thing is COL is happy and content to just stick with the pieces they’ve already got, so in order to entice them to move something, the deal (in their eyes) needs to be a clear cut win.

FYI COL has too many D as it is, we have literally zero need for Dermott. (Johnson, Makar, Girard, Graves, Zadorov, Cole, Timmins/Sandin, Byram)

Yea my Bad on Newhook. I knew he had value didn’t know he had that much value.

Kaut to me is interesting. 16th pick and has been very quiet unlike others(Farabee Denisenko Lundkvist ect) I knew he played a little bit, but not much, I think 2020-21 would likely decide if he has enough Value to go up for Nylander 1-1, I do think a second is fair but you might have to add because it’s a late 2nd(59-62 mark)

The “issue” with Kaut was coming from a Czech league that had a much much smaller/lighter schedule than then the AHL (38 game season) and he wasn’t conditioned or prepared to play the 70+ game schedule of AHL hockey. He ran out of “steam” his first AHL season. Not to mention the COL AHL team isn’t “loaded” by any means.

When you look at his international “best on best” numbers, he stacks up very well against his peers (U18, U19 and U20 competitions)
