Yeah I made a proposition around CHI getting Panarin back but there were people saying that they wouldn't involve Dach in that exchange.

I dont think this makes sense for either side. Barkov only has two years left until he makes the big bucks.

Its not about his value. We arent a contender in the next several years with the state of our defense, regardless of how good our offense is. It isnt worth mortgaging our future in order to have a few more competitive years that ultimately wont amount to anything. Which is why I dont really like trades like this. Nobody wants to give up enough to get the best players in the league, but its just gonna destroy our future anyway. Dach's ceiling is Barkov. Its not worth it to risk that AND more players to get his production now when we arent going to win anyway

Dach is untouchable. The way he looks right he he will be as good or better than Barkov in 3-4 years. I agree that a deal doesn't get done without Dach, but the hawks aren't moving Dach. A Barkov deal doesn't really make sense for either side. from a hawks POV I would rather just wait on Dach and get to keep Strome, Boqvist, and the 15th pick. Thats a steep steep cost just to try to "win now"

He's 19 and a ppg in the playoffs. Hawks have him locked under team control for at least 7 more years, and the way he looks right now he's going to be a 1st line center in the near future
