so my point/opinion is detroit is in the same spot trying to get rid of bad contracts your not gonna keep some of the old timers in your rebuild. so you too will have to give up assets to get rid of some anchor contracts like neilsen filppula and abdelcader for example.so again in my opinion asset management is important and jim will do us proud without selling the farm.we have approx 19 million coming off the books next year more than enough to sign quinn and peety.
Wings are not in the same situation. We have 3 bad contracts, Filpula with on eyewear left, Nielsson with 2 years left and Abdelkader with 3 years left. We also have 40 million in cap this year and Hronek to sign as a RFA next year and Zadina in two years as A RFA in two years. We are set up nicely. We do not need to trade any of those 3 as we have cap.
Unfortunately Canucks have cap issues this year if you want to keep Markstrom and next year with Quinn and Petersson .
I believe you assume in a flat cap for at least the next two years teams with cap are going to eat bad contracts for nothing. Sorry teams like Ottawa, Wings and Devils will not. You say you are not mortaging he future well fine but you will continue to have these issues until you rid yourself of 9.75 this year and 6million next year.
