Why would the Ducks who are rebuilding/retooling trade a good young player with some upside for a declining, more expensive player AND add to it, makes less than zero sense for the Ducks to do.

Only way the Ducks take Hornqvist would be if they get prospect/pick compensation for doing so

From the Ducks end, they're not really in a position to take on a declining asset with a salary like that, especially if they aren't getting assets to provide you the cap relief.

Understandable. I just wanted to find a team that has a lot of Swedes for Hornqvist, since that might convince him to waive and Anaheim seems like a good place to go after winning a couple of cups. I did not know Ducks valued Heinen so highly, I was just trying to move out a guy with a decent amount of cap, but not too much.

Oh, it has very little to do with Heinen, and tons to do with adding $5.3 mil/3 years in cap space for a 34 year old. Lots of young guys looking for ice time, and not as much cap space as it would seem. Biggest need is a RD.

not sure how that canucks trade benifits the canucks.would rather keep shot gun and gauds they have much better upside.we have enough nhl players we need picks.IN MY OPINION.
