I think Gudas on the open market will demand more but he’s a solid pickup, physical guy and I’ve heard he has surprisingly good underlying numbers (though I haven’t confirmed that myself yet). Gus has played well in Calgary but was bad in Chicago, so a short bridge like this makes sense imo. I’d rather use the cap space in the off-season to try and go after someone like Toffoli in free agency honestly (though that might not be quite enough cap room to do that). I don’t think Kylington is gonna be too expensive so I’d probably prefer to keep him around as the 7th dman rather than just deal him for a pick, make Valimaki work for his spot on the team over Kylington and Mackey.
